Mars Lamp Quick Guide

  • Print Specs:

    • ~99g of filament
    • ~9-hour print time
  • Filament Recommendations:

  • Red Light Effect:

    • Use either:
      • A red disk (53.5mm x 0.3mm) printed in PLA
      • OR an RGB LED (USB 5V RGB LED 3W) without a diffuser
  • Printing Tips:

    • Print the top 10% of layers with a 0.08mm adaptive layer height for better detail
    • Manually slice the raw STL file for best quality (approx. 30 minutes)

Materials and Settings

  • Filament:
    • Mars Lithophane: White or Marble PLA
    • Diffuser Disk: Red PLA
    • Disc Base: eSun eTwinkling Black
  • LED Bulb: 3W or 5W (3000K)

Slicer Settings

  • Lithophane:

    • Layer Height: 0.2mm
    • Top and bottom 2cm at 0.08mm layer height
    • 7 walls, 3 top/bottom layers
    • Cooling: 100%
  • Disc Base:

    • Layer Height: 0.2mm
    • 4 walls, 4 top/bottom layers
    • 20% gyroid infill
    • Cooling: 100%
