Heart Box With Working Zipper
This is box with a working zipper functioning as a locking mechanism!
CHECK QUICK DEMO VIDEO
The design is 100[%] print-in-place and requires NO supports. After printing you only need to cut thin strip of plastic between two halfs with knife (Showed on full demo video).
Package include standard version and with a built-in brim for easier printing.
Update 05.03.24 - Added additional version with looser tolerances, making it easier to print, while ensuring better zipper functionality.
To open/close the box, use the attached slider similarly to a real zipper. To open, start with the side of the slider with the smaller heart cutout. To close, start with the side with the bigger heart. (The first few times might feel a little rough, but after few slides, it will start to work smoothly.)

I have tried to print twice. I am new to 3d printing. I have a Bambu Labs A1 Mini and every-time I print i get about 50% and then the heart disconnects from the plate causing the print to move and crash. Any suggestions on how to fix this?
Hi,Try increasing the bed temperature, especially with silk filaments—don’t go lower than 65°C. Also, make sure the build plate is clean, I usually wash mine with warm water and a drop of dish soap. Enabling Z-hop can help if you're not using it yet, and you could also try lowering the print speed. And of course use the version with built-in brim :)
print settings suggestions for a 0.6mm nozzle?
The zipper works and it looks great, but when zipped it doesn't stay tightly closed.
Did the zipper keep the box completely closed for you? I printed in PETG and it zips but still opens with very little effort.
