Canon 70D Camera Cage
A very tight fit and strong print to add attachments to your Canon 70D. Finding a cage for this camera is difficult and expensive. I modelled this because I didn't want to buy a metal one :)
Beware - this still has a littleeee bit of flex since, well, it's plastic. It's very strong and I am using it consistently with no issues. But, plastic can have creep issues and this could put your gear in jeopardy. Be careful!
Metal Nut Inserts are 1/4-20 x 1/2" standard machine nuts from Menards. They are designed to snugly fit into the holes to be used as threads for accessories. All holes are 18mm center-to-center.
SETTINGS Material: PETG (I used AnyCubic Standard) Layer height: 0.15mm Infill: 100% Supports: Tree I printed mine on it's back , as shown in the 3mf file attached.
It's not the most optimized print, but in order to avoid openings on the camera and to add enough strength, I think it needs to be this form at least somewhat.
PLEASE give any suggestions if you want to see more iterations on this model!! I'm satisfied currently, but I know everyone has different needs.
