Yes, mushrooms! But different this time.
My new mushroom coat hooks!
A Prototype of this design has been on my wall for months now. I wanted a mushroom with stem and cap to function as a coat hook. The issue was: How can I get the coat onto the stem with the cap in the way? Originally, I had a gap between the two parts which looked weird and required two different wall fixations. I really liked the look though, so I came up with a backplate to unify the mounting and a hinge for the cap. This actually turned out really fun because when you take off your coat, the cap bounces for a little bit, which is really satisfying. I thought of an actual function for the cap for a while but in the end, I figured that it can’t be a mushroom without cap, so that’s fine.
I kept this design in a simpler look. I wanted them to be really smooth for the coat and also loved the idea of making them really colorful. So, this design is not based on any particular species. I have made so many organic mushroom designs at this point that making it a bit more parametric felt refreshing. Let me know what you think!
Have fun printing
