New mushroom lamp!

I have scanned a lot of “Fomes Fomentarius” aka tinder fungus over the last year, but always keep my eyes open for one that would be thick enough to accommodate a light source while being overall very close to the usual shape that this species comes in.

I found one in a beautiful little piece of forest where I knew a lot of those are located. Since those need dead or dying trees – they only grow in healthy and biodiverse forest where fallen wood is not brought away. If you see a lot of those around, be happy!

I wanted the top to be non-translucent, so this had to be a two-part body. I cleaned the scan and divided it up into components. I had to repeat this 4 times over multiple days of modelling and printing until it actually ended up working. I used my old reliable wall holder design that you can also find in my various mushroom wall shelves.
