The Screwfinity Grid Insert sits on top of your Screwfinity Unit to create a standard Gridfinity grid with optional magnets.

The Screwfinity Unit by ZombieHedgehog brought the ScrewU-nit to the Gridfinity universe, making an unbeatable combo for hardware organization. The lip around the top of the Screwfinity Unit does a good job retaining Gridfinity bins, but I found myself wanting more support for certain combinations of bins.

Design

  • Compliant with the Gridfinity standard (as documented at https://gridfinity.xyz/)
  • Lightweight and full magnetic options available for all Screwfinity Unit sizes
  • Sufficient clearance to accommodate any slight warping of your Screwfinity Units
  • Flat sides for side-by-side and back-to-back setups
  • Optional press-fit magnets
  • Flush top on the lightweight version (slightly shorter than a full-height Gridfinity frame)
  • Parametric source file available for easy adjustments and compatibility with future Screwfinity Unit sizes

Installation The Grid Inserts are designed to simply drop on top of your Screwfinity Unit. You can optionally glue them down. If you plan to glue down the magnetic version, I recommend installing the magnets first.

To install the magnets, use your favorite press-fit magnet jig (I use this one by Software 2). They’re meant to be a tight fit, so you may need a mallet. I’ll add a version with glueable magnets if there’s interest.

Naming convention Each file specifies XxY dimensions in terms of the number of Gridfinity slots deep and wide included on the grid. These do not correspond to the Screwfinity Unit filenames, which specify height and width. Just look at the bottom of your Screwfinity Unit to see which Grid Insert you need.
