These playful egg holders are designed using a process call “topology optimization.” Topology optimization is a mathematical design method that optimizes material layout within a given design space, for a given set of loads, boundary conditions and constraints with the goal of maximizing the performance of the system.
These designs were made using nTopology.
The ten models are made unique by randomizing the load points on the egg surface. You can further differentiate multiple prints by slightly scaling them along the z axis to add some variability in height.
Inputs to the topology optimization process used a theoretical 100kg egg placed on a titanium alloy pedestal.
