This political art piece was inspired by the global response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Around the world, countries, businesses, organizations, and individuals are taking whatever small or large actions they can to undermine the aggression and cruelty of the Putin regime.

It reminded me of the game “Jenga” where players strategically remove blocks from a tower until, in the end, the tower collapses.

My original intention for this project was to just post it on social media but not to post the files for download. However, when I posted pictures and video on Instagram, I was contacted by several 3D printing designers and artists in Russia asking for the files so they could share, print and use them.

One designer sent the following message and agreed that it could be shared without identifying information:

“Yes, I really wanted to print this design. In Russia, few people support Putin’s policy because it harms everyone, even citizens, and many are afraid to show their civic position in spite of the dictatorship.”

I admire the courage of all those standing up to Putin’s bullying. I post this in honour of those peace-seeking people within Russia who are finding ways to resist the injustice of a government that does not represent their values.

The pieces are labeled as follows. “L1” refers to “Level 1.” Levels are numbered going up to the top Level 6. The next level indicates the position of the piece within the level. Pieces within a level are labeled left to right, and front to back.
