Gridfinity Skeleton is a baseplate with the goal to use as little filament as possible. Since the baseplate will be generally be placed on a hard flat surface the baseplate does not need to resist bending but rather needs to be strong in the horizontal plane. With that in mind a LOT can be removed from the original design while still holding the bins well.
At only 16 grams for a 5x5 grid it's worth giving a try!
Let me know what you think and if there are requests for certain sizes. I have also included the step files so that it's easier to make improvements on my design.

I remixed this and made a parametric freecad model for it. I wasn't too happy with the flexibility of the base grid when printed, so I made it ever so slightly thicker between the corners. great work! perhaps ill upload it at some point.
please do so! i'm just getting started into this pandoras box universe. that'll be the perfect timing!
Any chance you could share the parametric freecad model? It would be much appreciated
I made a remix that is made so that you can just add more grids to it, it has 1x1 all the ways to 4x4
Have you given any considerations into how to connect grids together?
I made a remix of it. Please do drop ideas for me to improve upon it!
is this just the step file?
Any chance this could be made parametric?
This doesn't just save filament, it also looks more interesting. These savings could also be applied to the skeleton magnetic bases as well. Obviously you wouldn't save as much because of the required filament for the magnets, but only supporting the corners looks better and would still save filament.
I want to see if this can be combined with the clips found on this model: https://www.printables.com/model/740857-gridfinity-clip-base-base-remix
Would you happen to have this in other sizes?
