Creality K1 Max Spool Holder

Based on Fred Boisselier design: https://www.printables.com/model/540699-creality-k1-max-side-load-spool-holder

I added bigger and deeper screw holes and a mount for PTFE. You'll need one M3 0.5 x 12 and one M3 0.5 x 16 screw. Plus a longer section of PTFE for my design. More detail in this video: https://youtu.be/BQM7xBcZh00

I'm going to try to remix this so that it will allow me to mount the Creality spool scale designed for their Ender Series printers.

did it work? This device is cool!!! I'll try to buy the same for this mount too.

Update:

When I realized that it would in fact mount into the existing hole I kinda moved on to other projects but after some time using it some problems have occured. The teeth inside the mounting hole need to be horizontal rather than vertical so the display on the scale is level and upright when fully tightened into place. The bowdan tube also needs to be farther away from the surface of the printer because filament jams seem to happen frequently because of where it currently sits.

I am trying to do it using FreeCAD and as I really don't know what I'm doing I haven't yet managed to convert the stl file to a step file I can modify. I'm thinging about creating an adapter to allow mounting the spool into the K1 Max mount.

I just wanted to add that in the box with the k1 Max I found longer screws that work for this. Creality must have thought about this and included them.

I wish I found this design before I printed the stock one that comes on the printer. I’d like to make something where I can snap the PTFE tube onto the side of the unit with that one.

Found the M3x0.5x12 screw not to be long enough; used a 16mm long one.

I rotated the teeth 90 degrees as per the original K1 Max spool holder because when I tried to install a roller holder found that it was rotated 90 degrees. I also made the PTFE hole a bit larger (4.5 mm) https://than.gs/m/980269

You solved one of the issues (90 degree rotation) that I'm having using the Creality spool scale device however I also need a much longer post to move the bowden tube out to 80mm from the side of the printer so it sits as close as possible to the center of where the sits. If it's too close to the side filament jams happen when pulling filament from the inside edge of the roll. I wish I had access to the original CAD files for as converting STL is not an easy process without the full version.
