Aloe Vera Pen Plant - Printed with Hatchbox white pla and Eryone olive green pla. Opted to paint the spots on later tos ave filament. I didn’t have any red clay-like filament so I made my own white geometric planter that I scaled to fit the insert in blender.
Tips: Hit the stem holes with a heat gun on low for maybe 10 secs each to make it easier to get the pens down in them.
Bore out the caps with a small rasp/file or exactly knife for a better fit. I’ve still got a few to fine tune.
Once you get magnets in the base, give each installed magnet a pair and mark the outward face with a sharpie so you don’t install it wrong into the stem.
Use a flat surface on a pair of pliers to persuade the magnets into the holes easier.
If you dial in your printer this all fits together very well! I printed mine across an A1, an A1 Mini and a K1 Max and everything is fairly snug and lines up well. Great design! Kudos Forge! Thanks for sharing. - 3d model

Aloe Vera Pen Plant - Came out great! - 3d model
Aloe Vera Pen Plant - It’s really cool but not functional. The pen holes are all either too big or too small. I have to drill some and add hot glue to some. The spines have sharp points which would make it very difficult to use as a pen. The lids don’t stay on at all. - 3d model
Aloe Vera Pen Plant - Finally got my print finished, it turned out great after I figured out the scaling issue. - 3d model

Aloe Vera Pen Plant - How do you get the pen in the leaf? Also magnets don’t fit. I am using a Bambu printer. - 3d model

Aloe Vera Pen Plant - Love this print-I used harbor frieght 12 piece files #4614 that came in handy for pen inserts and to file down any rough edges. Also used a white paint marker for dots on plant and spray painted tips lightly with a brown and pink spray cans, and placed in a 4-inch clay pot with saucer. - 3d model

Aloe Vera Pen Plant - Awesome model! The pens fit perfectly and so do the magnets. Used Bambu Lab Oxide Green Metallic PLA, Bambu Lab Grass Green Matte PLA, Polymaker PolyTerra Marble Brick PLA, and Prusament Mystic Brown PLA! - 3d model

Aloe Vera Pen Plant - Very smooth print. The only trouble I had were the first pens I ordered didn’t fit well. But the second set of pen fills were perfect and everything snapped into place instantly. - 3d model

Aloe Vera Pen Plant - I used Cicla's antibacterial filament for the green - while it's a very bright green, these pens effectively clean themselves as they're passed from hand to hand. - 3d model

This Aloe vera Pen Plant makes the perfect addition to a desk. It keep your space lively and green but each stem also serves as a pen!

The stems magnetize onto the base, and each stem has a pen refill inside of it so you can write with them!

You'll need a total of 40 magnets. 2 per each stem, and 2 per each stem attachment. Don't worry, they aren't that expensive!

  1. The Pen Refills: 0.7mm x 107mm ballpoint pen refills (Amazon)

Filament Used: Green Plant Color: Ziro Matte Military Green (Amazon) Grey Dot Color: Polyterra Matte Muted Green (Amazon)
