Gift Box #8
After failing last season, I finally got Gift Box #8 figured out with a completely different design! To open this box, push down on the center of the bow. This releases all four of the spring loaded catches allowing it to open.

Its roughly 100mm x 100m x 80mm tall. The top prints in place all as one part without the bow and ribbons, supports are not required. It's designed for a .4mm nozzle which you will need for the springs. The bow and ribbons for the top are printed separately and glued on. I used Gorilla Glue(aff.) for gluing on the ribbons and the bow. If you don’t already own a set of these clamps(aff.) you should pick them up, they really help with gluing the ribbons on.
The center of the bow is trapped between the box top and the bow. For smoother action try filing away the layer lines on cam angle of the center bow with a rasp. Alternatively if you want to really loosen it up, try this PTFE(aff) spray. Its like magic, use very little. I printed all the parts in the orientation the stl’s are provided in. I prefer the vertical orientation for the ribbons for a smoother surface finish. I added helper pads to them to keep them stable during printing. I printed everything at .2 layer heights but the box could definitely be printed at a larger layer height without issue. There is a built in helper pad for the catches, be sure to remove them before assembly.
