Double Sided Bisento This was my sons project for MRRF 2023. Its his original concept, I helped him with the cad work and making it a functional design but he did all the work himself. Also check out Deaths Edge, his project for 2022.
Printing Each Bisento is printed vertically in the orientations provided. Note that you will need support for the bottom hole. Its designed to fit on a 1-1/8” staff. We used a stock broom handle that measured exactly 1.09” in diameter.
Assembly Each Bisento is designed to have a .25” rod inserted 8” deep so you will need two rods 10” long. We used the supplied drill template to drill a .25” hole 2” deep into each end of the staff. We then used Gorilla Glue to glue the rod into the staff and the printed part onto the rod and staff.
Paint My son did all the sanding, I sprayed it with Filer Primer. I showed him how to wet sand between primer and finishing layers. He did all the painting and weathering with acrylic paints.
Grips We used thin leather cord to wrap the grips. We followed this really good video on how to do the wrapping. The spiral version was easy and fast with two people. The knotted version was a little more difficult. Be sure to pull the wrap tight.
Printed on the Muldex rep-rap IDEX printer
