True to the name, Rapidevolution, here is v2, right on the heels of the original.
The Re120 v2 improves on the previous version with a more aerodynamic beam design for the arms that is also noticibly stiffer, resulting in reduced frame resonance, and improved flight performance with Betaflight 4.3 flight control firmware. Re120 v2 is a printable, 3", 1S Toothpick frame, focused on lightweight performance, and "take what you can get" durability. With a clean build, it should fly nicely on Betaflight defaults. Fine tune for increased performance. These frames are a constant work in progress, and you're likely to find increased performance with later versions, but they all meet a reasonable level of performance. Any claims made are based on frames printed with Colorfabb XT-CF20, a PETG filament containing 20% carbon fiber. It's incredibly stiff, and can take a pretty good crash into branches, and onto dirt. I am experimenting with adding 2 to 3 layers of TPU, or Alloy 910 nylon, at lower, mid, and upper layers of the print. You should experiment if you like. Otherwise, just print, build, and fly. Feedback is appreciated.
At the time of this posting for the Re120 v2, I am flying release candidates for v3, and dreaming up a pretty big innovation for v4, which Ill begin designing soon. Watch for more frames being released very soon. Rapidevolution frames are available in 80mm, 90mm, 115mm, and 120mm, in various formats including extreme lightweight (look for the Lite EX version.) Note: The Lite versions are great flyers, and fun designs, but were discontinued after v1, as the main releases are now very light, even stiffer, and stronger, when printed with 0% infill, instead of using "hollows," in the design itself.
