This is a patterned print on fabric piece. This is the first version of snakeskin that I've created, with more linear versions to come. The intention was to create a fabric that could be draped effectively. This pattern can be printed and connected on any of the sides by using the referenced UV curable resin in the PDF guide that is attached.

There are 3 sizes that are premade in the 3MF, or you can download the STL files and have a go at your own settings. You can scale it up to as large as your printer can manage, just keep the overall height .72mm. I print these at .24mm layer height, with 3 layers for a total of .72mm. I print them at 35mm/s for the first layer, followed by 35-100mm/s depending on the type of mesh fabric I'm using and the amount of stretch that it has (The greater the stretch, the slower the speed).

You can also copy and paste the file and line them up onto the build plate before printing, or use the cut object tool in the slicer to create your own size with trimmed edges.

I've enjoyed using both illusion mesh and a superfine four way powermesh. The links for fabric I use are in the PDF that accompanies this file.

Hi Kaizen, We’re testing a project that involves printing directly onto fabric using a pause layer. We're running into issues, especially when using the holographic 3D Effect Plate. We’d love to use translucent PETG for its clarity and strength, but we’re getting clumping on the last few layers over fabric, and it gets significantly worse with the holographic plate. PLA prints fine on the standard textured plate. Do you recommend a plate setting and ideal nozzle/bed temps for PETG on holo. plate

Greetings! To verify, have you had success printing PLA on the holographic plate? Are you using a sticker that's applied to the plate, or the magnetic version that I use? You're welcome to email me photos to help with troubleshooting. My biggest reccomendations are to print at 35mm/s first layer speed and verifying that your layer height is greater than your fabric thickness. I use .24 because a majority of the fabrics i use are .24mm or less. Kaizen3dprints@gmail.com
