On the top piece of the egg right where the ears are beginning and the top of the egg is closed, I consistently get a filament jam. I'm using Cura so I am curious what slicer 3dprintbunny is using. Each slicer interprets code differently and the .stl might have something which confuses Cura.
For some reason, Cura 5.2.2 throws an unspecified error when slicing at .16 layer height. I sliced at .2 layer height without the error. I am using Silk PLA which is known to be finicky unless retraction and heat settings are just right. I plan on trying again with a very low retraction and slightly higher nozzle temp.
Hi, I used Cura and did not have any problems (just printed my sixth one - love these!!)
I scaled one up and printed in Overture Black PLA and it looks really cool
Scaled up 150% and started to print. Then stopped when I saw the huge infil gap. This is way thicker than it needs to be. Sadly I will look at other options.
I have printed an egg shaped Death Star larger than this without the incredible double wall thickness.
Great model, i love it! :-) My wife is dying to know, what filament is it - photo 2/6, upper right bunny (navy blue) - @3dprintbunny, can You share link? :D
Glad you like the model :) the filament is Fillamentum Pearl Nught Blue, it is absolutely gorgeous and very nice to print with too :)
It looks like a Cadbury egg won't quite fit inside. I wonder how much you'd have to scale this up to make that work.
Cadbury egg fits great. In fact it has room to spare. At least the US version.
