Hextraction Necronomicon Tile
The Necronomicon Tile for Hextraction - once a neighboring tile is destroyed the Necronomicon opens up and lets you draw from the destroyed pool as if it were the main pool!
This was a fun tile to design. My goal was a folding tile that looks like a book, especially the look of sloping pages outward from the middle of an open book. Then, I wanted a ‘raising the dead’ effect, so this generic magic book progressed into the Necronomicon. Lastly, for visuals, I used the likeness from the Evil Dead film.
Rules Text Setup: Play this closed. On Adjacent Destroyed: Open the tile, you may overwrite. Ongoing: If open, players may draw from the Destroyed Pool.
Printing & Assembly Instructions
-
Printing
- I suggest variable layer height on the L/R pages to get a smoother look, but this is optional.
- Print the left page, right page, left cover, right cover, and two links.
-
Assembly
- Put the links in place between the left and right page, and push filament then cut it or pre-cut snips of filament through to hold them in place. You may need a dab of glue on the ends to help hold the filament in place to the page, but make sure the links can rotate freely and a ball can pass through.
- Once the pages are secured to each other with the links, glue the pages into the covers. Note: It does not matter if you glue Left/Right page to Left/Right cover. The cover and page geometry, (ignoring the decorative parts) are 180 degree rotations, so they will fit fine. The default suggested layout is to attach Left to Left, so that you open the tile to the left.
- (Optional, suggested) Glue 4 6x2mm magnets in place into the covers. Make sure to check proper polarity before gluing. This make the tile close with a nice magentic snap.
