I have used one as a wallet for a while, with cards on one side and a few simple tools on the other side. I decided I would modify the original to have a raised ridge in the shape of a credit card around 3 sides, so as to make it easier to align and retain my cards. I use silicone hairbands for my ties, easily found at many grocery stores or pharmacies.

This rack is 72x111mm or 2.8x4.3inches it easily holds 4-6 standard credit cards depending on their thickness, and I put my ID on the outside, easily accessible and viewable without removing from the wallet. When you wrap the silicone bands in the manner I have, they do not cover your ID portrait or your Date of Birth.
