Halloween in Layers - Horror Legends: Chucky
The sixth piece in the collection is here, and it’s got a killer grin.
This version of Chucky captures the unsettling mix of innocence and menace that makes him such an iconic horror figure. The layered cuts give shape to his chaotic hair, stitched face, and the glint of his raised knife, creating a sense of motion and attitude even in still form.
I went with a cold palette of greys, off-white, and dark blue to keep the piece moody and cohesive while letting the expression do the work. The sharp contrast between his pale skin and dark shadows brings the character’s intensity forward without needing bright colors.
Tips for Makers:
- Use silk or satin greys to emphasize the highlights on the hair and overalls.
- A slightly speckled white or marble filament works great for the skin tones.
- Keep the background matte black to make the blade and face stand out.
