Halloween In Layers: The Mummy
The third piece in my Halloween in Layers collection has emerged from its tomb: The Mummy.
This design captures the eerie calm of an ancient curse reborn. The layered cuts and flowing bandage shapes give it a sense of depth and motion, as if it’s slowly turning toward you from the shadows. Perfect for classic monster fans and anyone who loves timeless Halloween icons.
I chose a muted palette of bone white, soft greys, and deep dark blue shadows to evoke the aged, timeworn look of ancient wrappings. The subtle shimmer of metallic purple adds a haunting glow against the dark background.
Tips for Makers:
- Try pearl, marble, or silk whites for the bandages to highlight texture.
- Mix cool greys and dark blue tones for shadow layers to give the figure more dimension.
- A matte black or charcoal background works best to make the mummy stand out.
