I’ve created an STL file optimized for CNC carving. If you’re a member, you can request the file through Oxi Studios Contact Form and let me know which CNC software you’re using so I can confirm compatibility.
You are awesome! I have responded via the Oxi Studios link to request the STL file(s). I am very excited to try this and report back my findings.
Would you consider publishing the Gothic Raven Queen Cover V2.stl into the 3 main components in separate STL files for CNC wood carve? It may be an extended marketplace!
Hi, yes contact me through Oxi Studios and let me know which CNC carving software you’re using. I’ll check the files and confirm compatibility for you.
The main things to watch for with CNC carving are undercuts, steep walls, and excessive depth. Areas like the crows beaks, the queen’s facial features, and some of the roses may need to be softened slightly in Blender to make them more CNC-friendly and easier to machine cleanly.
You continue to create remarkable works of art. Your finishing talents always impress me. Appreciate the paint instructions. I will 3D print and paint, however, will also experiment and try to adapt to CNC for wood detail carving. Will post finished product if it doesn't find its way to fireplace.
Go for it! The STL should be fine, although I haven’t personally checked it yet. It would look fantastic as a carved wooden display piece or even as a decorative lid for a wooden box.
