This coaster set is a series of nine mind-bending artworks featuring the same grid manipulated in various ways to create illusions of depth and motion. Whether you print in black and white, or in an array of colors, these dramatic prints will be a showpiece.

Besides acting as coasters, these can simply be used as artistic tiles stuck on a wall or turned into magnets.

Printing Guide

This download features 2 sizes of the entire set of coasters + container. The standard size is ideal for cans and drinking glasses, while the larger version will support your steins and mugs. Of course you may resize either to suite various needs, but the default thicknesses are tuned to fit 9 coasters inside the container.

You can print all parts with your default settings, with no supports required. A brim may help keep corners from lifting if you print with a material that shrinks a lot... though I've set my hot coffee mug on PLA versions with no issues.

For the coasters, swap filament at 3.45mm z height for the standard size, or 3.6mm for the large version.

Optionally, print 4 of the TPU feet for the container. They press fit into the bottom grid.

Photographed coasters were printed on the Bambu Lab X1-Carbon 3D Printer using Elegoo Rapid PLA+ Black and White as well as Fillamentum PLA Extrafill Sky Blue, Signal Red, and Luminous Green (also at MatterHackers).
