Print this spacer to use 'The Filament' refills together with Bambu Lab spools. In this case, the filament uses the same size cardboard core, but this adaptor ensures a tighter fit so your filament stays correctly wound. It prints in under 2 hours using labout 30 grams of filament.

Printing Guidelines

  • 0.2mm layer height
  • 2-3 Perimeters
  • 5 top and bottom solid layers
  • Disable 'Extra Perimeters', 'Ensure vertical shell thickness', 'Fill gaps', and 'Detect narrow internal solid infill' to reduce uneccessary infill.
  • Set perimeter generator to 'Arachne'
  • 0% infill
  • Set 'slice gap closing radius' to 0mm
  • Enable 'Arc fitting'

Prints well with PLA or PETG.

Assembly

Place the refill onto the half of the Bambu Spool with the alignment notch.

Place this spacer with the wider face against the filament, on the opposite side of the refill. The print has a cutout to make space for the inside end of the refill, which sometimes sticks out.. otherwise you can ignore it.

The second half of the Bambu Spool goes through the spacer and the refill core. Press the halfs firmly together while locking them together to ensure a proper connection. This is an intentionally tight fit to keep the filament from tangling on the spool.
