Tilt Lamp - Small

This model is restricted by licensing terms.

A smaller version of the Tilt Lamp!

This size is great for bedside tables or bookcases and should fit on smaller printer beds.

Dimensions:

Base - 4.5"w x 5.25"h

Shade - 7"w x 6"h

Two important notes that are in the original post but I'll reiterate them here:

  1. I highly recommend printing the shade using a concentric infill pattern. This will hide the infill when the light shines through it.

  2. Note that you must only use LED bulbs (9 watts max) as traditional bulbs can get pretty hot and could cause damage to the plastic. I like these multi color smart bulbs that I can control with my phone, but any standard 9W LED bulb will do.

Filament and non 3D printed items for this model can be found on my Amazon Storefront, linked here: https://linktr.ee/loftedgoods

Black Walnut Base & Matte Ivory White Shade. Thanks for this design Brian!
Printed in Elegoo Wood PLA and Overture Matte White. I used a 0.4mm nozzle at 0.16mm layer heights for the base and a 0.6mm nozzle at 0.18mm layer heights + 1.2mm line widths for the shade, which was in lamp mode.

I considered printing the base upside down to avoid supports, but decided against it since most of the weight would be in the air.

I use Aliexpress cords for all of my lamps and they unfortunately do not have a section that helps to lock against the lip. I modified an E27 collar from Printables to act as a collar to secure the light bulb. I then just used a soft white LED bulb
Looks fantastic - there were some stringing failures on the shade but those are all kept to one side so I can keep those to the back.
Loved making this for my daughter’s bedroom.

That looks amazing! May I ask what filament and settings you used? I love the darker shade.

These do not work -- not without modification. The threaded portion fits into the lamp body, but the flange covering the bottom of the threaded section is too wide to fit into the neck of the lamp, preventing the threads from coming out the top far enough to affix the shade.

I have the same problem, did you solve it and how?

C

I solved it by removing the flange - I was able to unscrew a little "nozzle" which kept it on.

Probably not needed now but in case it helps somebody else here's a link to a model I made to help with this. I ran into the same issue and wanted to turn down the diameter of the light fixture portion. So I made this adapter that will thread into the light socket thread in the fixture after you unscrew it. Then you can put it in a drill and sand down the outer diameter nice and cleanly. Hope it helps someone!

What are the specific components on Amazon that I should get to assemble this lamp?

@hendricksdesign I love your design! Immediatly needed to join the membership because of the lamp. I by the way also love the Filament you used for the small lamps body. Can you tell me what brand and colour this is? Would be happy about it!
