Extra Tall ACE Pro Stand w/ Slots for 3 Build Plates

This is meant to sit on a flat surface, NOT on top of your Kobra S1!

I don't have the vertical space to put the ACE Pro on top of my Kobra S1 because my office has low angled ceilings - it was originally the garage attic. I found some nice looking risers that I could maybe tweak to fit my needs, but they still used a LOT of filament and had features I didn't really need. So I just made my own minimal riser with a couple slots for holding build plates. The rest is wide open to use however you want: stackable bins, a small toolbox, spare filament, a flower, photos, whatever! With this stand, when the ACE Pro is closed, it's about 1cm taller than the Kobra S1.

I also recommend adding one of the many lid stoppers available out there so that the lid stops in a basically vertical position like in my photo. This will help prevent the stack from tipping over backwards, and also allow you to place it a little closer to a wall as well. Obviously you still need space for both the lid and the PTFE/buffer tubes on the back, so nothing new there.

SCREWS ARE NOT OPTIONAL - you MUST attach the stand to the bottom of the ACE Pro using the screws it shipped with (assuming you bought the S1 Combo), or some M3 or 1/8" coarse thread screws about 1cm or 1/2" long. Just get them in snug - do not overtighten! For the FRONT screws, you CAN use the longer (~2cm) coarse thread screws that were used to anchor other parts during shipping inside the Kobra S1. DO NOT use those long screws in the rear screw holes - they're too long and will dent the bottom of the spool area inside your ACE Pro. Instead use the 2 short screws that actually anchored the ACE Pro inside the Kobra S1 combo, or just find some shorter screws in your bucket of random screws/bolts/etc... Surely you have one of those, and I'm not the only one, right? :) See photos for the screws I used in mine.

Printed in PLA+ with 2 walls, 25% cubic infill, and NO SUPPORTS! In your slicer, be sure to orient the parts with the large X flat on the print surface. Interior brim is optional, but certainly can't hurt since the actual bed contact area is pretty small for such a large print. I tried to design this so that it didn't need any support (less wasted filament). The outer edges of the plate holders came out a little bit rough (see photo w/ screws sitting on the side of the ACE Pro), but the build plates still slide in and out just fine. If that concerns you, you can turn on supports, though of course that'll use more filament. If you do enable supports, put support blockers (right-click the support painter in Anycubic Slicer Next to get red "paint") on the 2 top screw holes, or else it will make supports outside the build area and cause errors. Maybe put more blockers on the front and rear 1cm or so of the plate holder slats as well, since supports sometimes go beyond the parts and again cause errors for being outside the build area.

Each side piece only uses about 210g of filament and doesn't require any additional hardware beyond the screws to attach the ACE Pro to the stand, which you may already have. That's way better than the 1.1KG per side that one of the risers I looked at needed, and at least 10 sets of nuts & bolts for another. This thing is only holding maybe 8kg - 4kg filament and maybe 4kg for the ACE Pro itself, so I don't think it needs to be quite so stout as some designs out there.
