Playbook'd - Sling Puck

Instructions Hardware Filaments

The classic game of sling puck is now a book! This is my favorite Playbook'd to play so far. Its super fun and fast paced.

Disguised as a book This design blends in on your bookshelf or table. But when you're ready to play, turn the page, open the book, and you're playing sling puck.

Easy Storage This looks like a book when you're not playing. So you can store it anywhere! And since the covers hold together with magnets, all your pieces are secure inside. Magnets hold the covers of the book shut and automatically open the gate so that once you open the book you're ready to play.

How to Play Each player starts with 5 pucks on their side. The game beings after a 3 - 2 - 1 - GO! then race see who can clear their side first, by slinging pucks through the gate.

Really appreciate your designs, genuinely some of the best out there. I’m a full-time 3D printer now, and your work played a huge role in getting me there and improving my life in a very real way. I’ve been subscribed since around April/May 2024 and plan to keep supporting on both sites (switching to annual subscriptions soon). I’ve even been encouraging other friends with printers to subscribe. What you’re doing gives a lot of people in this hobby real inspiration to push further. Much respect.

I am just loving these book games and they are selling great. I think "snakes and ladders" should be put on your list of games to make

Great design! I love these playbooks. The flaps aren't flush with the main cover. The magnets are flush with the surface. I think it's because of the lettering on the spine, which always lifts the center section on one side. The lettering should be recessed, not printed on top. I've always had to sand it down so far.

Game ideas:

I have run into an issue with this print, the gate flaps in the middle are not flush with the main board. Magnets are connected and the book opens and closes correctly but the white gate flap is just a hair rased so you cant play the game. The puck just hits the lip of the flap. Any advice? anyone else dealing with this? I have been a sub for a while now and have never had an issue with your prints.

There should not be a lip. we have seen others have it from slight warping issues, elephant foot being a bit to prominent or the magnets not being fully seated. You can join out Discord to share pictures and get more exact help with your issue.

This thing is awesome. However I do have a question, is the book supposed to close with the gate inside or do we need to remove it every time we close the book? I slid the gate in as far as it would go but the book will not close with it in I even reversed the gate and still would close.

Hi! The gate folds up to allow the book to close and folds down to make the playing surface flat. This may be what you are experiencing, if you don't fold up the two sides of the gate before attempting to close the book.

thanks for the reply. It's not the flaps I did lift those up there's not enough clearing on one side. I did slide it as far back as it could go and one end has enough clearing while the other end, the book hits the gate while trying to close. I added a phot for context. I also tried sliding the gate the other way around to see if it worked better but I got the sane result.

From the picture you shared it actually looks like the gate isn't locked into the spine. You will want to apply more pressure until it fully clicks in. It takes just a bit more pressure than you'd expect.

I was running into the same issue, I just set it on a softer surface and gave the spine a couple gentle taps with a mallet/hammer and it popped all the way in

@jayare13 were you able to fix it? I'm having the same issue!
