I bought some inexpensive metal pegboard, Hyper Tough 12 x 12-inch Single Piece Black Steel Pegboard as an example, and wanted to mount it in a bedroom. I was worried about the metal digging into the wall so I made some simple "cushions" to spread out the force and hopefully not damage my walls.
