Collapsing Rondel Dagger #2
Collapsing Rondel Dagger #2 Multi-Part Version
This is my second collapsing Rondel Dagger. The pommel on this dagger screws on so the blades can be printed separately and replaced. This is the multi-part version which allows the parts to be printed separately in different colors and glued together.
Supports are not required, for best results use a .4mm nozzle. You can print the blades all at once concentrically or one at a time in vase mode. Find detailed instructions on how to print collapsing swords on my website.
Printed on the Prusa XL(aff.) with Polymaker Metallic Pro PLA. Assembled with Starbond Medium CA Glue (aff.)

I have tried printing these blades 3 times to no avail. The first time I tried vase mode and they slipped past each other, too small for the hilt. Then I tried 2x as one piece and both times there is a small blob of filament that fuses the outer 2 blades almost at the top. I printed the sword test print and my printer successfully printed that. All three circles were free of each other. But both times the all in one print failed with same filament blob in the same location. Please check the stl.
If they are not locking in vase mode, its because the wall thickness is not set correctly. It needs to be in the .9mm range, you can adjust that slightly to get a little longer or shorter blade.
When printing the test print you have to look very close at the seam. Any little connection will be much worse on the actual blade because they are much longer. I actually suggest the new clearance test, as it tells what clearance your printer can achieve.
