In case you are concerned about forgetting which pieces are which, the mapping is clear and intuitive:

Icosahedron=Queen (most number of sides, most versatile movement) Dodecahedron=King (of course, + second most number of sides) Octahedron=Bishop (moves diagonally, suggested by the diagonal form) Tetrahedron=Knight (moves in 4s (3+1)) Cube=Castle (moves vertically/horizontally, suggested by the horizontal/vertical form) Sphere=Pawn (not a hyperbolic polyhedron)
