After several months of successful, summer printing, fall/winter is here and it is apparently too cold to print :( I needed something quick and cheap, so I decided to throw together an enclosure made of 1/2" insulation foamboard. It's not pretty and, unlike most of my projects, it's far from indestructible, but it is cheap - $8 per 4'x8' sheet - and using these clips, it's quick. It'll get me through the winter until a more permanent solution can be found.

This is designed so that the front piece of foam will slide up and down in the clips so that you can easily remove it to access your printer. I plan on cutting a hole in the front piece and gluing a piece of plexiglass over the hole on the outside as a window. I will probably also be adding LED mounting clips and a clip for an endoscope camera later on.

The DO_NOT_PRINT file should, obviously, not be printed. That's just for Thingiverse to use for a 3d rendering of the enclosure. You will need to print two of each bottom connector and one each of the four top connectors. For the edge connectors, print as many as you need for a sturdy enclosure. I'm only showing two per side in the rendering, but I think I will probably need three or four per side in reality.

I have printed the connectors and they fit perfectly on 1/2 Perma "R" Foamboard. You may want to glue the connectors in place with E6000 or Duco Cement. I am building this this weekend, so I will update if I run into any trouble. If these help you, please upload your own [I Made One] of your enclosure.
