**The Articulating Koi Fish**

There are 2 Versions:

Version 1: This version has the whiskers sculpted into the side of the.  Probably most appropriate if the Koi Fish will be handled a lot and you worry about the whiskers breaking. 

Version 2: This version has the whiskers print separately, and then glue into place afterwards.  Has a better 3D look, but they may be likely to break if it will be handled a lot.  Great if the print will just be on display.

**Here Are the Settings I Used to Print:**
Nozzle: 0.4
Layer Height: 0.20
Supports: None
Scaling:  The model can be scaled up as big as you'd like, but may not work too well if scaled down much.  I haven't tested it yet, but the articulations aren't that big so scale down at your own risk.  I may work to create another version that can be scaled down if there is enough interest. 

Both versions print in place with no supports needed.  If you print version 2, just insert the whiskers into the holes in the side of the head afterwards.  If they are a little snug, trim down with flush cutters to fit.  Rather too snug than not tight enough.

**Settings**
Use basic settings that your slicer prompts. I have made the files to fit most universal 220x220 print beds. You can resize to your preferences accordingly. I make our wall art with 15% to 20% infill, on draft settings usually - and they come out great. I use a 0.6 or 0.4 nozzle (for finer finish), PLA at 210F -215F. (PETG slightly hotter). Zed (Z-Axis) = 3.5mm. For varients in line thickness you can add or subtract 0.2 to 0.5 to your XY settings in your slicer. Keep in mind to make sure you still have all the connection points when you create negative space.

I am not strictly sticking to the same order as the encyclopedia.

The goal is to make them all simple, cute and fun.

This articulated fidget toy integrates the Mimetics 3D "Snap-Flex" joint. This allows the model to both move smoothly, mimicking the fluid motion of living creatures, AND stabilize in a firm pose, providing a premium fidgeting experience.

**Snap-Flex Instructions:**
To Lock: Push Body Segments together
To Unlock: Pull Body Segments Apart


**Print Settings:**
0.2mm Layer Height
3 Wall Loops
3 Top Shell Layers
**Good Bed Adhesion Required - Consider using glue stick** or a brim

**Suggested Material: PLA or PLA+**
**Note:** Silk PLA is too weak to hold up to repeated use of the Snap-Flex joint.  Use silks at your own risk


**No Supports, Print-In-Place at 100% scale** 
Printing any smaller may disable the Snap-Flex joint.

Printing larger than 100% will make the snap louder AND **harder to pop**, so be sure to do a shorter test print to make sure it's not **TOO hard to snap into place.**

These tolerances are TIGHT and you'll likely have to snap each segment a few times before it's loose enough to snap/unsnap easily. I recommend you use regular PLA or PLA+. ABS might be even better, but I haven't tried it yet.

If you print this in resin, please let me know how it turns out. I imagine you would need a more flexible/less stiff resin for it to work appropriately.
