I was asked to help make some changes to the previous design. There are now four versions of the drawer cabinet:
- Same size (and number of drawers), but with the back support bar preattached (rather than glued on).
- 120MM deeper, with back support bar. Smaller drawer is now on top. There are now two large drawers, and they are now deeper by 120MM; which will have them end right before the next 2040 aluminum v-slot.
- 160MM deeper, with back support bar. Smaller drawer is now on top. There are now two large drawers, and they are now deeper by 160MM; which will have them end on the other side of the next 2040 aluminum v-slot, nesting up to the power supply.
- 120MM deeper, with back support bar. Smaller drawer is now on top. There are now two large drawers, and they are now deeper by 120MM; which will have them end right before the next 2040 aluminum v-slot. But also with material removed to reduce print time.
There are now two additional versions of the "Drawer1" or larger drawer.
- 120MM deeper
- 160MM deeper
The STL load into Cura with no errors. MeshMixer thinks the files need repairing, and winds up removing necessary parts.
I have NOT done test prints for this iteration (as my previous drawer cabinet already has the back support glue on). The three drawer versions assumes your printer has already been lifted up with the squash foot isolator modification. I'm pretty sure the back support is at the correct height, but a sliced/partial print should still be done to confirm.
The cabinets will likely now need supports are otherwise be rotated to print properly.
Note: I saw in one of the remixes that the drawers and cabinet's depth were all made to extend about 30mm further from the front of the printer. I did NOT do that as it would be blocked by the red "L" bracket that holds the foot of the printer. When the other versions were made wider, they did not go back and correct the right mounting tab... which resulted in their drawer cabinet being pushed away from the right side of the printer (rather than sitting flush). My versions have the tab corrected, which results in the cabinets sitting flush to the right 2040 extrusion, and having the red L bracket sit slightly in front of the cabinet.
The v2 files I moved the back support beam up by 0.7MM. Should be better aligned now. (I'm removing the other three files, so they aren't accidentally used).
