Wasps and Coldness
I have just posted a couple of new wasp trap designs that fit onto 2L PET bottles and mason jars. The main impetus of these traps is making them much bigger than many of the alternatives out there. Bigger serves a few purposes, but mostly makes it a more visible target for wasps and gives them a larger landing area. I believe this will make a more effective trap (but time will tell). I included a collapsible iris-based closure that can be used to shut the trap when desired.
As part of that design process, I also created a splicing system for 2L PET bottles. I just wanted to make a stubby bottle for my wasp trap, but I imagine there are many other potential uses for this design.
I have also, in the past week, posted my solution to chilling your beverage in the DrinkColder. I had some push back on the name because, as posted, it does not actually make your drink colder, but now that has changed... The new home-made freezer pack significantly slows the warming of a beverage and inside the DrinkColder, it is even better. I think this opens the door to more cooling designs in the future.
