After moving my spool holder to the side of the printer I came across the problem of routing my filament to the direct drive extruder without causing any sharp kinks/angles in the filament path.

I found this model to direct the filament up the side of the printer: Printables

I still had the problem of directing the filament from the top gantry frame and making sure it had enough movement to pivot left and right in the X and Y axes.

My design has 2 pivoting parts to provide enough movement for the filament path to the extruder and it can be bolted together with M3 nuts and bolts.

I then used these T-Slot adapters to lock it in position on the frame: Thingiverse
