Cactus Toothpick holder - Printed fine with a .6 nozzle in PolyTerra PLA (Muted Green, Cappuccino, Muted Red). The spring is a little loose, so the travel is limited. Will reprint that with some adjustments to make it a bit firmer or longer. - 3d model

Cactus Toothpick holder - Can you please explain how to mount it and how to print it ? I have printed the parts all in 100%, but the thing with the long arm doesn't fit inside the inner pot... What's the problem :/ ? Is there something to be printed at different scale ? I am using a Bambulab X1C. Thanks for your help. - 3d model
Cactus Toothpick holder - I had a hard time with the spring and printed it at every angle possible to make it work on a prusa. Print on side, 2 walls 100% infill, and go 40ms for speed, and reduce the speed to 60 on the printer. This worked for adhesion and spring tension that doesn’t snap. - 3d model

Cactus Toothpick holder - On the left pot, I used the Fuzzy setting on my X1C. You can't see any layer lines, and I think it looks great. I used .3 and .3 for the settings with all walls. - 3d model

Don't have a 3D Printer? My models print great with These Printers (affiliate)

The Cactus Toothpick Holder This one took me soo many attempts to get working right, but its finally done!

Everyone loves cactuses. Cacti? So i made one into a toothpick holder. It has a built in spring so the spines stick out when you push it down! (If needed, use the Brim print setting to secure the spring if it isn't sticking to the build plate)

These are excellent for storing your toothpicks. They're great for when you host parties and have fruit or meat and cheese boards too!

These work with standard round toothpicks. I just picked up a pack of 500 of them for super cheap from walmart. This cactus takes 117 toothpicks total.

I used a standard 4 inch Terracotta nursery pot for mine. But I included a file to print the pot if you'd like.

Filament I used: Eryone Olive Green Matte PLA (Amazon)

Components: Optional Metal Spring. The metal spring is more reliable and lasts longer than the printed spring.

Assembly

  1. Insert spring into the cactus

  2. Insert Cactus over the Inner Pole

  3. Place everything into pot holder

  4. Place inside pot, or 3d printed pot.

  5. push down cactus, insert 1 toothpick, release, then insert the rest!
