What is the purpose of the filament in the bottom? I want to scale up this project and would not be able to use the filament in an increased scale.

What scale do I print this at in cura. I can't get it to work.

How about a Harley Davidson keyring?

I had a look at it, but the details of the logo (words and lines) are too fine for the space available and wouldn't print well. Also, Harley's don't have seat belts ;)

Cool name! I've just added it. The file size is getting a bit bloated, but there is no way to download them individually right now.

could you make a dacia one and this thing is very cool

That's a new one for me! I've just added it.

What percentage infill did you use?

15%

Not sure what I did wrong but the case top doesn't snap fit for me. It should be much larger.

Check out Francis_Mk3S' revision of the top part in geometrically related models above. That may help?

Great model! I have switched to using this as my test print for new filaments. I can get away with printing all parts in one batch. Granted I have to do more post processing and I have a solid colour buckle, but still, a 3 hour print for something that can be fidgeted, top job.

Thanks. That's a great idea!

The button spring prints .4mm thick and doesn't seem to provide enough spring. I tried designing a .8mm think one but my design skill aren't the greatest. Anyone else have problems with the spring?

You may run into clearance issues with a thicker spring, but it only takes a few minutes to print, so try it out!

Quick (noob) question. How do you generate support in the case for just the window and not on the build plate for example? (I'm using prusaslicer)

J
jblanteigne

I'm also using prusa slicer and this was my first time generating supports. The default settings seem to add useless supports inside the case too. I messed with the parameters until it works. I found that changing Pattern Spacing to 1mm (default is 2) solved this for me. I hope this helps.

I also had to change the threshold and "don't support bridge" option to get the Press button right.

I did tree supports in Cura from build plate to window and it worked perfectly. But probably used a little more filament then in just the window.

I'm not familiar with PrusaSlicer, but Cura has support blockers for this.

Great model! I had to change a couple of the part files to fit it together. Here are the tweaked parts that worked for me. https://thangs.com/mythangs/file/35531

For the actual print All brims are optional for PETG. I forgot supports on the case and it works fine. I didn't notice the latch had a shorter layer height until I started wondering why insertion wasn't smoother, reprinting the latch with 0.1mm layer height made a big difference.

L
landon1013

Glad to know it does make a big difference. I printed the latch at the "normal" layer height and I am unimpressed with how hard it is to latch and how little it "shoots out". But overall this was a super awesome fun print! I'll have to reprint the latch with the recommended settings.

hello! this is really awesome work, thank you! can you please tell me how to change the color of the emblem on a tongue without changing the rest of it from silver? I'm very new to 3d printing!

Electrosync

Thanks! Color changes depend on the printer and slicer that you are using. If you use Cura, you can do filament change or pause at height scripts. You can even do a filament change manually on your printer, but you'll have less control over the quality this way. Have a look on YouTube for the different ways that you can do it.

Thanks for letting me know. I've fixed it.
