Here's the thing about book nooks. They're fun to have, pretty to display, but such a pain to actually model and design!!
In any case, this went through MULTIPLE revisions before I was satisfied with it. This book nook doubles as a storage box, along with providing your shelf with some pretty decor. The lid slides up to reveal... whatever you want!
It is made up of multiple parts, the box base, the lid, the cart and the Hogwarts print on the inside. The cart and the Hogwarts print is separate from the box to give you freedom to replace them with anything else you want to print as a box insert or attachments to the wall.
The files attached are as follows:
Main Book Nook base and Lid:
- Entire book nook base + lid .3mf file with colour swaps and settings loaded in. The lid does take a bit to slice, I think it was about 3 minutes of slicing time for me (I do not know why) but it will slice eventually.
- Platform Wall Box Base .STL for those of you who don't want to use the 3MF file - this is just the box base.
- Platform Wall Lid .STL
- Platform Wall Lid .txt - the Hueforge instructions for the colour swaps for the Lid.
Optional Extras:
- Half cart 3MF and STL modified from this UncleJeffCustoms file. Note this was such a biiiiitch to print so be warned LOL. It requires a lot of supports and I just glued it onto the lid after it was painted.
- Hueforge background STL and 3MF of Hogwarts castle.
- Hueforge Hogwarts Castle .txt file for the swap instructions for those not using the 3MF file.
General Settings: Book Nook base:
- 0.2mm layer height, standard settings with whatever infill % you usually use will be fine.
**Book Nook lid: **
- This is a lid with a HueForged print on top. The first 2mm you can print with your normal settings, whatever infill settings you want.
- Anything above 2mm should be printed at 0.04mm layer height, 100% infill and follow the instruction .txt for the colour swaps.
Half Cart:
- 0.2mm layer height, standard settings with whatever infill % you usually use will be fine.
Hogwarts Castle Insert
- 0.04mm layer height, and follow the instructions .txt file for the colour swaps
Have fun with this one! It's my first book nook and it was so daunting but I think it came out alright. If you have any questions / issues with this - please let me know either here or via Discord. I'm always happy to help!!
