The Loot Lab is Merging into the Kit Kiln!

The Loot Lab is Merging into the Kit Kiln!

In early July, The Loot Lab will officially be merging into The Kit Kiln. Over the next month, all existing Loot Lab models will gradually be added to The Kit Kiln (from oldest to newest), and after the merge all future Loot Lab-style content will be released exclusively through The Kit Kiln moving forward.

This merge will allow us to stay more efficient as a team while continuing to release a large number of high quality models every month. Instead of splitting releases between two platforms, everything will now live under one roof. Because of that, the release cadence on The Kit Kiln will increase from around 8 models per month to roughly 12–16 models per month — essentially combining the current output of both platforms into one larger stream of releases.

Important Subscription Information

If you are currently subscribed here to The Loot Lab, please read the following carefully:

  • Loot Lab subscriptions will **NOT** automatically transfer over to The Kit Kiln
  • Loot Lab subscriptions will also **NOT** be automatically cancelled for you
  • If you want continued access to future Loot Lab content after the merge, you will need to subscribe to The Kit Kiln

Because of this, we strongly recommend that Loot Lab members cancel their subscription sometime within the coming month — especially anyone currently subscribed annually. If you recently subscribed annually to The Loot Lab, please send us a message and we’ll make sure your refund gets sorted out properly.

What Happens to The Loot Lab Page?

The Loot Lab page itself will remain online for a few months after the merge, but:

  • No new models will be added
  • New subscriptions will be disabled
  • Existing members can still access the page temporarily

This should give everyone plenty of time to:

  • Download any models they still want
  • Use any remaining credits
  • Wrap up anything they need from the platform before it fully sunsets

We also strongly recommend that everyone download and keep an offline repository of any Loot Lab files they want to keep. Once The Loot Lab fully closes down, you will no longer be able to access old downloads through that page and you'll need to use a Kit Kiln download credit to redownload them.

Commercial License Changes

Once the merge happens, Loot Lab commercial licenses will no longer remain active independently. Since the models will now exist under The Kit Kiln, anyone wanting to continue selling physical prints of Loot Lab models will need to subscribe to the Kit Kiln Merchant tier moving forward.

Thank you all so much for the support you’ve given both The Loot Lab and The Kit Kiln. We’re really excited about what this lets us do going forward, and we think bringing everything together will make the overall experience much stronger for the community.
