The GEN2 Open Bin Lack Drawers are part of the GEN2 Modular Storage System I designed which features a simplified installation method that allows you to rearrange and customize layouts in minutes.

Where the GEN2 Open Bins differ from standard lack drawers is the opening in the front. This feature allows for easier and quicker access to small contents withing, such 


as screws or small parts. The base of the drawers slants up toward the opening to aid in sliding items out through the opening. The opening has a secondary function acting as a window to see the contents of the drawer without having to necessarily label it.  

Originally designed for the “Original Prusa i3 MK3 ENCLOSURE…", The Lack drawers have found their way on to many desks, workbenches, and other tables as well. Now with the Gen2's rail design you can quickly swap the storage units between work areas.


**Features:**
• Gen2 rails allowing quick and easier swap-ability and combinations of many Gen2 Storage System designs.
• Lack Drawers also include optional slots for magnets allowing drawers to snap into place with a nice "Click".
• Drawer stoppers keep your drawers from attacking your feet.
• Designed for larger and easier to install wood screws over the original lack enclosure drawer design.

**HARDWARE**
• Screwdriver
• Countersunk woodscrews: (Metric: 4x25mm to 4x16mm) or (SAE: #6 or #8 up to 1" long)
• Drill bit that is smaller diameter than the wood screws
• Pen, Marker, or Scratch Awl
• Magnets (Optional): 10x5x2mm or 10x2mm
• M3 nuts
• M3 Screws M3x6 - M3x10

**INSTRUCTIONS**

 • With a marker or pen use the GEN2-QL rail to mark the hole locations on the surface you are mounting.

• Drill out marked locations using a drill bit smaller than the diameter of the wood screw you will be using.

• Prep the rail for installation by installing M3 nuts into the hexagonal holes. You can use a M3 screw to position and tighten the nut in place.

• Install the rail using wood screws, use at least 4 screws on the outer corners to mount the single rail and and 6 to mount the double rail. (extra screw holes are available if you plan to stack more than 2 rows of drawers or contents of heavier than normal weight.)

• Prep the drawer case for installation:

• Install GEN2-QL (QuickLock Mechanisms) into the drawer case. These will allow you to quickly lock and unlock drawers without the need to screw them in place with a rail lock.

- Install optional magnets if desired 
NOTE: you only need to install at least one magnet, you can choose to install 2 stacked if you want more magnetism between the case and the drawer. Pay attention to polarity, they can be corrected later if needed.

- Install optional nuts in drawer case (these are only used if you are installing a shorter drawer beneath this drawer case.

- Install optional drawer stops by pressing them into place as they are friction fit. Pay attention to the orientation, notch facing down and towards the front to pass through the slot. The one labeled “L” goes on the left side of the case and “R” on the right side. (While facing the front of the case)

**OPTIONAL - Alternative method for locking drawers (You do not need this if you are using GEN-QL QuickLock Mechanisms)**

• Slide the case into position until it either stops or lines up with the front of the rail. (If you feel any resistance you might need to clean up and plastic imperfections around the male or female rails. 

• Slide a rail lock into the rail found on the backside of the drawer case, slide all the way to the top until it buts up against the hole in the rail that contains the nut. Screw in place using a M3x8 or M3x10.

• Prep the drawer, install the optional magnet, pay attention to the polarity. (If you need to remove the magnet you can use another magnet to pull it out of place or use a small Allen wrench or paper clip inserted into the hole below it.)

• Insert the drawer by tilting in back when installing in order to pass by the drawer stopper notches. The drawer should now slide into place.

• I guess you're all done unless you want to make more drawers :)

Installing Drawers under each other

• This is the same process as above but instead of mounting the "Rail Lock" into the nut on the rail you will need to slide a “Rail Lock Upper” into place on the back of the case above or if installing a shorter drawer line up with the hole in the case above it.
NOTE: You can only install the same length or smaller drawer case under each drawer case.

**RECOMMENDED PRINT SETTINGS**
Filament: PLA (PETG or ABS for heavier duty storage)
Nozzle Size: 0.4mm
Print Height: 0.2-0.35mm
Infill: 10-20%

This is a skeleton-style knife handle for utility blades with a case that includes integrated tools for installing and removing the blade.   It is low enough cost to be "disposable' but I think you will find it is durable enough and so useable it will be your go-to box knife.  

100% printed - no hardware, fasteners, or adhesives required.  No additional support is required.

How I print it:
Material = I recommend PETG but any material should work.  
Nozzle = 0.4mm
Layer height = 0.2mm
Line width = 0.4mm
Wall count = 4 (1.6mm)
Infill = 40%
Ironing = ON

**A compact, collapsible, print-in-place phone stand that unfolds into far more than you expect.**

At first glance, the Phone Multi-Widget looks like a simple phone stand. In use, it reveals itself as a surprisingly versatile, multi-configuration holder that folds flat, deploys quickly, and adapts to a wide range of everyday situations.

## **Why I Designed This**

I wanted to create a single, compact object that could solve *multiple* small but common problems without becoming bulky, fragile, or complicated to assemble.

At the time, most phone stands were either:
- Fixed to a single angle  
- Large and awkward to carry  
- Dependent on hardware or post-assembly  
- Or limited to one specific environment  

This design started as an exploration in **print-in-place mechanics** — how much useful motion and functionality could be packed into a single printed object using only hinges, pivots, slides, and detents. The result became part phone stand, part hanging hook, and part mechanical fidget.

The goal was not just to hold a phone, but to create something that:
- Collapses into a compact, portable form  
- Adapts to desks, shelves, doors, screens, and edges  
- Prints as a single assembled unit  
- Is satisfying to print, deploy, and use

## **What It Can Do**

Despite its small size, the Phone Multi-Widget supports a wide range of configurations:

- **Nightstand or shelf** — hold your phone upright for charging or viewing  
- **Desktop stand** — multiple adjustable viewing angles (high and low)  
- **Vertical hanging** — hook onto a cabinet door, drawer, or seat back (think airplane tray)  
- **Edge hanging** — hang from a laptop screen, monitor edge, or glass panel  
- **Drawer wedge** — slot it above a closed cupboard drawer for hands-free viewing  

And likely a few configurations you’ll discover on your own — it’s part widget, part fidget.

## **Print-in-Place Design (No Assembly Required)**

- **100% printed** — no screws, pins, springs, or adhesives  
- **No supports required**  
- **No post-print assembly**  
- Hinges, pivots, slides, and detents are all printed in place  

Once it comes off the bed, it’s ready to use.

## **Two Fit Variants Included**

Because this is a fully print-in-place design, the final “feel” can vary slightly depending on printer tolerances.

Two nearly identical models are included:

- **Standard fit** — prints perfectly on most printers  
- **Tighter fit** (`Phone Widget 1v02h2c.stl`) — recommended if the standard version feels loose  

The geometry and function are otherwise identical. If in doubt, start with the standard version.

**2026-01-30**  - I have now added version 1.5 to this download.  So please carefully note the different versions.  if you have a newer printer that is printing well, then use the latest v1.5.  Otherwise, you can experiment with the older version.  Version 1.5 now has several mechanical improvements, much tighter tolerances and symbols to help remind you what direction to rotate or move elements.  The square dots indicate a push location.

This is a small and sleek snap-together pocket pill case that can deliver a single pill on demand.  Works super well.  

The pill box will accommodate pills up to 12mm in diameter and up to 7mm in thickness. Smaller pills and tablets also seem to work fine. But you might have to shake the case slightly to get just one pill if they are small.

It is designed for one-handed operation. And, it is 100% printed - no hardware, fasteners, or adhesives required.  No support required

I have tried to make the “trigger” and slide to deliver the pill “child-proof” to some extent. To slide open the delivery tray you must first push it inward slightly and then slide it sideways to deliver a pill. 

The lid simply snaps on and off for refilling the pills. And, I added a keyring hole in case it made sense to attach it to something.  The key ring hole also protects the slide tray.

I recommend printing the top in clear PETG and that allows you to see into the case. The base and the pill slide can be solid or transparent.  Or print several of them in different colours to colour code your pills.

Recommended Print Settings:
- Material = I recommend PETG but anything will likely work fine.  
- Nozzle = 0.4mm
- Layer height = 0.2mm
- Line width = 0.4mm
- Wall count = 4 (1.6mm)
- Infill = 40%, but not important.
- Ironing = ON
- Suport = No.
