It's like a rubber duck but a little bit bony.

NEW FILE UPDATE:

I have uploaded the new skeleton duck file. When I printed them, I only needed to support the bottom of the duckbill, you may or may not want to paint the supports where I had originally stated. It depends on your printer and how it does with overhangs, most of the overhang is minimal now and prints well without support.

If you run across issues, message me on Discord or here and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Printing recommendations:

  • .10 to .20 layer height - Adaptive Layer Height (Variable Layer Height looks best and makes supports pop off easier.

  • Infill 5-25% - whichever infill you like - I used lightning infill - the bones were solid

  • Wall setting - 3 walls with a wall printing order of Inner/Outer worked best for my printer and overhangs.

  • Fan Settings - Keep the ducks as close to the side fan as possible - my fans were on at 100% to help with overhangs.

  • Supports - These need support to print the best. Utilizing single-wall tree hybrid supports worked best.

  • I have uploaded images of where the supports need to be painted on, if you do not paint them on, it will put supports in the center and the design does not need those. The placement of the supports is highlighted in green.

  • Some supports will end up inside, they will come out with some patience. I used a small skewer to help pop the supports out and move them to a spot where I could pull the support out between the bones.

You may get away with only supporting the bottom of the beak and a bit of the bottom few rib bones, however depending on how your printer deals with overhangs, it may not look the best.
