Modular Shelves, Magnetic Drawers, Renamed Units - January 2026 Monthly Update

Hey Makers, Happy New Year 🎇!

A lot has happened in Multiboard in the last month. Here’s what’s new:

🔧 New Parts

  • New Modular Shelves (view parts)
  • New Simple Drawers: Magnetic, without labels, and row divided (view parts)
  • Better Rails: New Extension Rails, stronger Cover Rails, better organized in the library (view parts)
  • New Center Marking Tools (view parts)
  • New Beams WITHOUT small thread holes (view parts)
  • Non-folded versions of the bolts (view parts)
  • Magnet Holder is now a flex-insert instead of folding (view part)
  • Multibin Dividers now have pin removal holes (view parts)
  • New “High-Density Small Thread Plate Snaps and twist lock” (view part)
  • Printing improvements for the simples shelves, trays, and lite panels.

🤝 Community Promise

The new Community Promise is a legally binding guarantee that all of the functional Multiboard parts will be free within 6 months of release.

(This does NOT include Cosmetic Parts, Branded Parts, Packs, and Generators. These don’t have to be free.)

✏️ Naming Clean-up

Bye Bye Multipoint:

  • “Multipoints” will just be “Points”
  • “Multipoint Rails” will just be “Rails”

New Unit System:

  • Small Unit (SU) - Based on 12.5 mm sizing (for upcoming parts)
  • Medium Unit (MU) - Based on 25 mm sizing (all MultiBoard parts)
  • Large Unit (LU) - Based on 50 mm sizing (all MultiBin Parts)

A few parts are part of both MultiBoard and MultiBin. Those will have both units in the name.

Tiles and Plates Renaming:

  • Multiboard Tiles → MultiBoard Octagon Plate
  • Multibin Plates → MultiBoard Square Plate

(I will make a post later this week explaining the Plate renaming more)

Rails:

  • “Pop-In Rails” have been renamed to Fold-In Rails (view parts)

🛠️ Behind the Scenes:

New Website in Progress

A completely redesigned Multiboard site is coming—a much more organized hub for parts, docs, and resources.

We’ve made strong progress, but it’s taking a bit longer than expected.

👉 You can preview the concept here: https://www.multiboard.io/roadmap

Cable management

The cable management parts are ready for the most part, but we still need to organize the parts, create images, write documentation, and record videos.

The plan is for the cable management to launch as early access after the new website release.

I can’t wait to show you how cool this system is and making it even better with you in early access!

Keep Making!
