Hang Tight! We’re Working on Simplifying the System

Hey Makers,

It’s been a while and I owe you a real update on what we’re working on:

The Simplicity Update

The most common feedback for MultiBuild is that it’s too confusing and can be frustrating.

And I completely agree with that. There is a lack of documentation, outdated resources, and too many options without enough explanation.

Some people prefer the parts to be out ASAP, even if the documentation isn’t ready, and even if the parts are still in development and changing.

But unfortunately, this creates the expectation of a polished experience, when in reality it can be overwhelming.

Moving forward, we’ll still release parts that are in-development or undocumented, but in a separate early Beta section, instead of presenting them as official releases.

Right now, it’s my number ONE priority to make the whole experience dramatically simpler and easier to understand.

I can promise you that there will be more documentation, guidance for every option, less decisions to make overall, unnecessary parts will be archived.

This is a MASSIVE update and it’s taking time. But when it finally releases, I think the silence and the wait will make a lot more sense.

Other News

  • Roadmap: As requested, we’ve updated the roadmap to be in order of release. If you ever want to see what we’re actively working on, check it out: multibuild.io/roadmap
  • Cable management: It’s still coming, but will release after the simplicity update.
  • Bolt Generator: The bolt generator has officially moved out of Blender and onto the web. It has the same features as before, but we plan to add more in the future. Check it out here: https://multibuild.io/tools
  • Bug fixes: We’ve also spent a lot of time squashing most of the bugs on the new website.

Thank you for sticking with this while I get it right and thanks to those who are supporting the project via the membership.

As always, Keep Making!
