Why is the date on these parts "December 15, 2023" when (I think) this is the new version of them released in Jan 2024 (per https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6QzwYYZiBE)? ARE these the new parts? Why is doing practically anything with MultiBoard always so confusing?
Because the entire system is in beta, they don't provide version numbers for tracking changes they keep making, and it'll be a mess as long as they l refuse to deal with the issue and keep adding undocumented feature tweaks
I found that #8 screws fit the countersink and the bore of the holes and are pretty common in US based hardware stores. My local place didnit stock any #9 sizes, but those should work too.
With the latest "On Grid" update, is this now the new (new!) DS Part A that makes the new DS Part B completely flush? I confused how these files get 'updated' yet the upload date stays the same.....
The answer is, these are the 'new' parts. Thangs does NOT update the date when Multiboard replaces the file. The way I was able to finally tell was by looking at the Legacy part and comparing it to this one.
BUT. Be aware that the ON GRID STANDARD is apparently changing (again) to be 6.5mm instead of 8mm.
I suggest using a sharpie to mark the square after printing while the part is still on the print bed. Once you remove the part, the square is nearly invisible and it needs to be aligned with part B during assembly.
Yes, they print well on the side. Printing on the side orients the weaker inter-layer bonds to be oriented in a way that avoids breaking. I accidentally printed them face-up at first, then realized my mistake and reprinted.

The On Grid Standard did indeed already change. To an 6.25mm offset (Part A) and a flush top (Part B)

I think the side print is to increase strength of the part and allow stack printing.
Prusa slicer gave a warning but was able to print on the side without supports on my prusa mini.

Any idea what would be the best Machine screw size and head type to use with these?
What happens if you don't set it to 3 wall thickness?
Less wall and more infill pattern = weaker part.
