Hey - everyone, I wanted to share some of the upgrades I've been working on for my TwoTrees SP5. Here's what I've added so far:
Upgrades I've made:
- Mjolnir Direct Drive Hotend Assembly
- X and Y Stabilizers
- Flex Bed Guards
What's Next? I'm not done yet! I've got a few more upgrades planned, including:
- Front Panel Knomi 2.0 with BTT HBB Macro Buttons
- CPAP Fan Mount
- BTT Octopus Pro Mount
- Printable Side Panels
A Closer Look at the Mjolnir Direct Drive Hotend Assembly This upgrade has been a game-changer. I've equipped it with the Phaetus Rapido (both versions 1.0 and 2.0 work), Orbiter 1.5, Nitehawk 36, BTT Eddy Probe, and CPAP cooling. The assembly offers easy belt tensioning on the tool head and makes a significant difference in performance from stock.
The stock SP5 hotend assembly is lacking in performance and cooling, and this upgrade addresses all the major issues. With high-quality components and a direct drive setup, the Mjolnir hotend assembly provides excellent filament flow, cooling, and precise filament handling.
The Nitehawk 36 board simplifies wiring and even includes an integrated ADXL345 sensor for input shaping. If you're not using the Nitehawk 36, there's an option to mount a separate ADXL345 sensor on the side.
X and Y Stabilizers These stabilizers have made a huge difference in what acceleration I can use by keeping the pulleys steady during fast movements. Plus, they give the printer a more polished look.
Flex Bed Guards These guards make aligning the Flex plate a breeze, saving time and frustration during setup.
I'm excited to keep improving my SP5 and share more updates with you all soon. Let me know if you have any questions or if there's anything specific you'd like to see next!
