Albatross Light // Dynamic Desk Lighting System
byMake AnythingI designed this lighting system to easily transform for different situations. It uses two task lights (I like these LED ones from Hykolity) which are suspended from the ceiling. A counterweighted system of paracord and pulleys allows these lights to be lifted up and down with ease. In the raised position they provide excellent coverage and brightness for daily desk work while staying out of the way. The lowered position creates a very bright and shadow-free space perfect for film, photography, or any other situation that requires superb lighting.
...It's also really fun to use and looks dope ;)
All 3D printable parts are included with this download.
Other parts I used:
• (2x) Hykolity LED Task Lights • Warriorcord Paracord • (10x) 608 Bearings • (14x) 3/8"-16 x 1" Hex Bolts • (2x) 3/8"-16 x 2.5" Hex Bolts • (16x) 3/8"-16 Hex Nuts • (7x) Eye Screws or compatible ceiling hooks • 5 lb. weight - (This may be a bunch of pennies, lead weights, etc... whatever fits in the Counterweight Holder "CW_holder.STL")
You should be able to find all materials or compatible alternatives at your local hardware store.
