Almost immediately regretted my color choice and print settings as I went very slow with it. After getting it all put together though it was well worth it, this thing is amazing! Thank you for the design!
Absolutely awesome job, for a first upload you've blown it out of the water.
I've made plate files which would allow people with Bambu printers to just print 4 complete plates of parts instead of having to keep checking the parts list - would you mind if I uploaded these to Maker World? I'll of course credit you and link to your file.
If not then I'm happy to send you the project if you'd like to upload it yourself - it might just save people an hour or two.
Sure no problem! Just make sure to have a link here in case I update or change anything, also the instructions might be handy.
Are you able to add a link here to your upload once done?
Made a few mistakes during print and assembly... but that's ok... I'm addicted to this game and will be printing more boards....even oing a themed one I saw for my grandkids!
Do you mind sharing a step file for the Gutter? I would like to add some built in supports. I can send it back to you some way so you can upload it here to have everything in one place.
Also a file for the legs would be nice so people could size them however large they want without also scaling the threads
I just have a small problem - I'm printing a few sets of these, but the screws don't work well with the mounts or the pieces.
Screws were printed with PETG, 90% gyroid infill, 5 line thick walls (so the screws don't shear off during use)
board pieces were printed with PLA, 15% grid infill, 2 line thick walls
Printing my first board now for my kids for Christmas, can't wait to try this game!! I think I'm going to print the 6 hex high version. What has been peoples experience playing the standard 5-high vs the 6-high? if any?
Hey! I have a question, Would a 7 long board work? I know it says that it can be adjusted easily, but I just want to double check that I wouldn't need to do anything to the legs.
Love the gutter system! In the process of printing out my copy. I want a way I could insert additional rows to make the board longer for a longer game. Using half gutters to create a seam where the board isn't glued together should work. To keep the board together for play, I would use something like your ball holder. I also need to make the bottom mirror of your GutterHalf part. Any thoughts?
It might be that I've been staring at this all too long but is: Leg.stl x 2
LegExtention.stl x 2 the same part? When I brought the models into the slicer the look exactly the same, they also resemble parts on the back? Thanks ^^;
Good job! BUT! Please consider removing the "bad" files and leaving only the good ones. Mixing good and bad files in a single archive is 100% going to lead to avoidable mistakes.
FYI, on a Voron 350x350, you can print a 6-tall board in one piece (it works best orianted across the bed left to right for maximum clearances at the front and back). Would be handy to have the board pre-joined as a single base piece. In SuperSlicer, you can position the two parts so they touch, then merge them.
What "Bad" files are you talking about? the GutterSide left and right fix? They are included for people that need them if they have already printed the old version. It's mentioned in the instructions, but perhaps I could rename the files too so its more obvious?
"Would be handy to have the board pre-joined as a single base piece" Are you talking about the Plates? or the entire board/gutters/goals everything?
The list of what to print on this description might need updating, I'm not sure if it's because I printed the plates from others, or if things have been added, but the parts in the zip are different from the parts on the list and not all are mentioned. Haven't started assembling them, but was confused about which to print and not just the "fixed" ones. There's long bolts and short bolts, but the parts list doesn't mention length. Thanks!
The game board, you use the 5-7 the 5-15 and the 5-1 to make the 6 board, they were wanting the 3 parts as a single part for 350mm3 printers (Voron, SV08 etc..)
Thank you. I have had an issue with my print. The bolts don't want to thread all the way in to make a tight join between the pieces. I am currently testing reprinting the bolts at a slightly smaller scale but if that fails my backup is to print 2x M10 washers for each bolt as when tested with metal washers that fixed the issue. Could just be my printer but thought I'd give others a heads up.
Are you talking about where the legs join together? Don't think you can add a photo here but if you join the official discord (Voidstar Lab, link in Zack's video) Then you will be able to send some photos so I can see what the problem is.
But it does sound like a printer calibration or slicer setting issue, that I can help out with easier on the discord.
I love this version! Just wanted to give a heads up that the ball easily bounces out of the goals for me. I will have to read the rules to see if that still counts. an easy fix is just to put a little foam in the goals I suppose.
Yep this is an issue with most of the designs out there! I'm not sure of the official rule, but we sort of rule it as, a bounce where it really only touches once then flies out as no. If it looks like it would have stopped with higher walls or it got there legitimately (doesn't fly across a gap with no tile) then yes.
My next design is a fully modular board and has slowdowns in the goal area that will hopefully fix this most of the time!
I hope its not too much to ask, but would it be possible to get the goals in a step format? I was hoping to build a little guard that I could glue on to the goals/ball return, but I only really know how to work with solid models ;) If not no worries.
I didn't use a program that can export solid files, well it can but it would be the same as just importing the STL file. Don't think you can PM me on Thang's? But if you join the Void Labs discord and post in the hextraction section we could figure something out.
Maybe if the texture on the goal floor was different or the walls higher on all goals that people made? Or maybe part of the chaotic fun is that the ball never lands in the goal LOL
I haven't added one as most slicers should be able to cut the model where you want to. (I'm using PrusaSlicer and it has it on the toolbar on the left) I would just slice it straight down the middle and glue back together.
If the slicer you are using does not have this feature or you are having trouble getting it to work let me know and I'll do it and upload the .stl's here.
yeah I'm having a bugger with Cura for some reason. If you could that could be grand. I'm also looking at possibly another model (to do the central "fault" return in a different colour)
Thank you for this, I just finished printing mine and will post a make soon. Just a note for anyone planning on printing this, when doing your gutters don't put too many on your buildplate at once. At least if you don't have a fast new age printer. Having too many leaves the time between each layer too high causing the filament to start to curl and produce ulglier walls. Other than that amazing remix.

How did you go with the plate files? Any chance you can share the link please?
Amazing. When you've done it, publish the link. Can't wait to print it.
Dear lord baby jesus....... I cant believe your work. Are you sure you arent just a twin of Zacks ? LOL I cant wait to print and try this !!! NOICE !
this is amazing, great work!
I like some of your color choices for the tiles!

Sorry didn't use fusion or a program that can export step files. I could do obj or fbx if you like?
i can work with an obj
The Leg STL files don't have the holes for the bottom or top parts.
Oh no, you are right! fixed now. Thanks for the heads up!
I cannot get the on ramps to fit! the top two hexes are thick
Wonderful models -

Any suggestions on how to fix these?

I don't want to print this, not because its bad but it will take a lot of time and filament, but this is top notch
About how much filament does this use? Thank you in advance
How would I make this?

If you want a board that is easy to add extra rows, check out my modular board on here.

No, Leg is 2-3x larger than LegExtention.

I had better print quality when I tilted the gutters so that one of the wings was flat on the bed.

No problem. I will look into the discord thing. In the mean time, I am trying to figure out a solution in Blender. Its not going too well so far. lol
Awesome! Cant wait to see it. Thank again for your effort with this design. Printing and assembly was a breeze!
Is there a broken down STL of the goals? Doesn't quite fit on my print bed

Spectacular. Love your work.
