1A} If someone has the "Hacksmith Researcher" membership, this includes source files for the cad and whatnot, correct?
1B} If this is indeed the case, when could those members expect to receive those source files for this project?
could we receive corresponding source files for the already released models?
1C} what kind of source files can we expect? would they be SLDPRT files?
2} What size are the dowels supposed to be?
3} Is there a way for us to get access to the design schematics for the Power Armor Station?
ive only got 4 leg peices to go, 2x 13 and 14. then im caught up, we still waiting on the drop for the back peice, chest and thigh peices. i hope it comes soon. been printing on 2 printers non stop for 2 weeks straight.
Hey guys for anyone building the suit I just wanted to let you know that I think there is a slight error for leg piece 3, 4, and 13. Basically Leg piece 3 and 13 have a circular bump out that prevents it from going into the flat side of piece 4. I am pretty sure there is some small issue with piece 4 because the assembly video shows piece 4 having the circular bump outs cut off, but its not like that in the print file. You should be able to make the cuts for it yourself in your 3d slicer. Just wanted to let you guys know before you print it out!
i had the same thought, so for the top platform part i made it %15 grid infill where your foot actually rests on it, then the rest of the feet i used %8 Gyriod infill, i used a combo of very strong glue throughout the main parts of the shoe, inside all connector holes then popped them in more strong glue everywhere, but i ran a bead of super glue around the outside edge of the faces to be glued together, i either held them or used tape to hold them together tightly for 48 hours each peice.
once completed i gave it a go, and it was solid as a rock, and to boost your confidence, i weigh 150+kg witch is like 330+ pounds for americans. and i was able to walk around with them attached, no creaking no cracking nothing. literal solid. also make them 4 walls for more strength. and 5 top/bottom layers.
Will you be releasing the helmet files from the video? The ones that are in there now don't seem to have any of the functional components, like the facemask that opens.
I just bought and downloaded it and don't see any of the adjusted files like in the video where the intern works on the helmet? Can we get a video that also explains the assembly including where to put actuators for the moving parts and screw holes for the AR glasses etc? Can we get a guide to help us for this please?
You forgot the fusion core! ;)
FYI for anyone building this, one of the pins in each shoulder is out of alignment, so be sure to dry fit first and identify whcih one. I forced one of them and it resulted in a big seam gap on the side of that shoulder. For the other shoulder I simply left that peg out (there are plenty of other pegs to hold it in alignment) and the resulting shoulder was much nicer.
Working on printing the helmet and it's going together pretty smoothly. Only feedback I have is:
The printable pins are 25mm and each hole is 10mm so I had to use the slicer cut feature to make it ~19.5mm [wiggle room]
The Torch arm is a bit flimsy because the elbow portion that goes into the helmet is cut off instead of allowing the top of it to extend into the contour of the helmet. I think adding that on will give both a bottom and top section for the glue to hold nicely.
I printed the shoulder pieces for the harness and tried it on, but it's a little small. If I scrunch in my shoulders they fit. Are there any measurements available (height, shoulder width, etc) that these were originally fitted for so that we know what adjustments to make going forward?
HELP!! I have the full model download and I am printing the legs right now, and last night I saw I am missing a file for ( Thigh left #9) Has anyone else had this problem? @hacksmith
Im personally using Krylon Fusion Hammered Dark bronze because it has a deeper gray metallic tone but they have a hammered steel color that would match the original (im sure you already have it painted but just an idea for others to take, especially since the hammered finish would help hide layer lines missed by any filler primer)
what are you using to secure the harness pieces with the harness connectors? Cutouts look designed for zip ties but I wanted to confirm and make sure anything additional wasn't needed such as glue. I didn't notice anything in the post or file folder mentioning this.
the original version didn't have the holes. I super glued the crap out of mine and couldn't get it apart when I wanted to but the glue also cracked when i put any pressure on it. I'm printing the one with the holes now and I'll probably zip tie it at first until i know it's all good then i'll epoxy and zip tie it together.
Pegs added as individual printable parts as well, call-outs in the filenames indicate how many are needed for each section, but you can add/subtract as needed as they should all be interchangeable.
my A1 has been a little champ on this build, i used it for all the more delicate, smaller detailed parts. i used my K1max for larger items as somtimes it can fit 2 large peices at once. but hell its given me so much bloody greif im ready to throw it off a bridge.

Amazing model, are you going to upload the other parts of the armor? Hope to have it all
We'll be adding more parts with each video upload!
got a few questions here:

Super useful files for a really good price. Will the updates include hand mechanism resources?
Just added assembly videos to the attachments!
It would be nice if the fingers had slots for strings so they could used from the inside of the arm
ima do it myself in blender
Legacy FX has some really good bts photos of the hands on their website: https://www.legacyefx.com/fallouts1
Man I wish I could make the clampshell design it looks so cool I might work on that when the full thing comes out or try
btw the photos are a big help thanks
You guys are doing a great job on the power armor build.
Hey Hacksmith the chest pieces aren't added still.
All parts should be available now. Please let us know if you find any missing.
how many total kg does it cost for full suit?
hello there is an issue with back 9 is there any fix for it? Thanks.
What should we do about the chest files since they thought they added them?
the upper part of the leg is also missing.. and the back?
they added the rest of the parts today!
ive only got 4 leg peices to go, 2x 13 and 14. then im caught up, we still waiting on the drop for the back peice, chest and thigh peices. i hope it comes soon. been printing on 2 printers non stop for 2 weeks straight.
same here. a couple more days and i'll be out of parts to print. It's unfortunate that the chest isn't here since they thought they posted it.
How much did it cost you?
I finished one of the legs, but ran out of fillament
Anybody else notice that the heel piece is missing the hex hole for one of the pegs? I don't think this thing will be structurally sound without it.
Ok looking at it again it seems they were going to put a 2nd peg there but realized that would make it impossible to assemble.

We verified files in the new version (14) have likely fixed the issue, but please keep us posted if any issue persists. https://ibb.co/rRzGT5GC
Yeah I printed them out and just used a saw to remove the excess plastic
Looks like the feet are "platform shoes". Any changes to the print recommendations? Does 5% infill provide enough strength?
i had the same thought, so for the top platform part i made it %15 grid infill where your foot actually rests on it, then the rest of the feet i used %8 Gyriod infill, i used a combo of very strong glue throughout the main parts of the shoe, inside all connector holes then popped them in more strong glue everywhere, but i ran a bead of super glue around the outside edge of the faces to be glued together, i either held them or used tape to hold them together tightly for 48 hours each peice.

5% should be good but I am being a little careful and doing 10% just to be safe

Updated today with the entire set.

any idea when the helmet files will b out
All files now available.
any idea when the helmet files will b out
Full suit is now uploaded. Let us know if you need any help with anything or find any file mismatches.
skibidi nah jk but i hope when the other parts come out the rest of the body they will post it here
chest and abdomen has been added, more to come!
yeah the chest is missing.. still.
Idk if it is just me but the chest file isn't in the folder
no the chest files aren't in there for me either
Ok thanks, I’ll just keep working on the legs then
no problem, Just make sure to fix the leg files
How do you fix them?
How are people attaching this for wearing? at the moment, I have Both feet done, half one leg. just cant figure a way to have all these parts wearable
i dont see nothing for the hands, can someone explain?
Could I make a request, Could you provide a version of the helmet with the front, mouth, vent be made to go through the model for ventilation?
What is the minimum baseplate size required to print the stls?
You forgot the fusion core! ;) FYI for anyone building this, one of the pins in each shoulder is out of alignment, so be sure to dry fit first and identify whcih one. Working on printing the helmet and it's going together pretty smoothly. Only feedback I have is:
What would be the minimum size for the print bed for the components? I'm currently considering buying my first 3D printer for the Power Armor.
I printed the shoulder pieces for the harness and tried it on, but it's a little small. If I scrunch in my shoulders they fit. Are there any measurements available (height, shoulder width, etc) that these were originally fitted for so that we know what adjustments to make going forward?
Could we get uncut versions of the major parts for people that have printers that can print big? All files now seem to be sliced into smaller pieces?
HELP!! I have the full model download and I am printing the legs right now, and last night I saw I am missing a file for ( Thigh left #9) Has anyone else had this problem? @hacksmith
It's missing for me too.
It looks like you're intended to use Thigh Right #9 since it's essentially a big screw and you only need 2 for each thigh but it's listed as Qty4.
My file is missing the chest peices
I think the "bucket" is the chest piece. If you look at the full assembly, that looks like a match.
i love this model im in the process of printing it in gray i was wondering what color paint should i use to give it the old metal look?
Im personally using Krylon Fusion Hammered Dark bronze because it has a deeper gray metallic tone but they have a hammered steel color that would match the original (im sure you already have it painted but just an idea for others to take, especially since the hammered finish would help hide layer lines missed by any filler primer)

I'm printing the one with the holes now and I'll probably zip tie it at first until i know it's all good then i'll epoxy and zip tie it together.
It turns out I like how the zipties give it a bit of flexibility so I probably won't glue it at all.
Just wanted to mention that I modeled some TPU soles for the feet if anybody wants it.. I posted it on thingiverse.
I can't find it?
It's thing:7036548
Thank you!
BTW you guys built the arms backwards. That's supposed to be the back of the elbow that's on the front there..
Does anyone know how to get the pegs to connect the parts together?
Pegs added as individual printable parts as well, call-outs in the filenames indicate how many are needed for each section, but you can add/subtract as needed as they should all be interchangeable.
it's 1/4" wood furniture pegs you can get at home depot or whatever.
thanks helps a lot
I started working on this a few days ago. This is by far the biggest printed project I've ever undertaken.
I’m pushing my a1 and a1 mini to their limits for this project💀
my A1 has been a little champ on this build, i used it for all the more delicate, smaller detailed parts. i used my K1max for larger items as somtimes it can fit 2 large peices at once. but hell its given me so much bloody greif im ready to throw it off a bridge.
