A classic, now even better
The V6 of my sponge and cloth holder design!
This design has a special place in my heart because it is one of those things that I have used every day for many years and just like it. I am always the most confident about the things that I use a lot myself, like my notebook or watering can. I just feel like I know it’s good, pretty much thousands of testing cycles and years of usage later, if that makes sense. Last time I showed the design lots of people were asking for a spout, that I removed on purpose already with the V2. Not one single time water actually came out of it. It evaporates quicker than it can start flowing. The water’s surface tension is enough to keep the few drops in place. Wringing the sponge out is important, otherwise you can pretty much throw it away after a few days. So, no spout, sorry!
After a few years of optimization, I have come to the conclusion that the designs needed another upgrade. Mainly because I recently started to add TPU feet to the kitchen designs to give them a little anti-slip. While I was at it, I could not help but change the overall appearance to be more cleanable. This pretty much meant a complete rebuilt since the V5 is mainly based on chamfers instead of radial corners. I am super happy with how the new grid came out, it will be less prone to stuck dirt particles, and I think the overall visually are now really on point.
Have fun printing
