Love the planets! Does anyone know what the spec of the thread is, please? I want to use a different light in some of them and need to design a fitting with the same thread so I can screw it into the bottom.

Great Christmas gifts for family and friends :) Such a hit! I was able to get 11 of these printed from one roll of filament, with 1 having significant issues at the top. Mostly easy to print, this was a fun project!

Tried several different prints of the base for the lamp- I bought the lamps kit directly from the link in the description, and as others have said in past months the base is very loose fit around the lamp. Definitely could not sell them with them rattling around like this. The diameter of the plug port in the bottom of the light comes in at 9.87mm on my calipers; the printed plug piece comes in at ~10.4mm fully assembled. Happy to provide more detailed measurements on the current lamp if helpful

HI! I have actually resized the base several times and they sometimes fit snug, but it seems like the supplier ships different sizes kinda randomly.

The easy fix is to add a dab of hot glue on the plug before inserting into the lamp, which keeps it from rattling!

Printed the moon just fine with the given instructions from the video. I have tried printing Jupiter 3 times but always the print fails as it detaches from the build plate towards the end of the print. Brim and raft are enabled, smooth textured PEI plate on P1S, tried bed temps from 55-70 C.

Can you please help?

Troy B

Same here on this planet. I thought it only hated me LOL I have tried everything, including hairspray on the plate. which I do for all my prints and I VERY seldom have any adhesion issues but, this one. If you have any tips now that its been such a long time since you posted this, id love to know and would accept any tips. Thank you!

Do you put glue down on your plate?

Hi, is there a modified screw base to suit the changed size in the lamps? I’m keen to get some of these lamps printed but can’t do much if the lamps don’t fit. At the moment the lamps are very loose in the screw base once installed.

Colby G
ForgeCore

Yes! Redownload the files, just updated the fit so it’s not loose anymore

I was just about to comment about this. Gonna print the new one tomorrow, Would love to get these into the shop! Is it just a change in the screw pieces and not the planets?

K
kianjc05

They still are loose for some reason

Chris K
ckarnacki

Yes they are still loose for me too

Tried print the Saturn planet and rings on a Bambu Lab A1 and the rings printed fine but hte planet completely destroyed itself - it was a bunch of scribbly string and could not print it at all. Any ideas what is wrong?

The printer also keeps recommending that the design is too complex and that I should simply the model. Is this normal?

Colby G
ForgeCore

The warning is normal as there is just a lot of detail in the design, but simplifying it _could _ remove some detail. As for the plantet, you want to make sure you follow the Printing instructions that I have a video for. You may also need to slow the print down more since the A1 is a bedslinger and increase your fan speeds to 100%. Make sure you have a clean build plate (scrubbed with dish soap and warm water to remove any residue or oils) to ensure adiquate adhesion too.

I haven't been able to get a good print even though I've followed the print instruction video and tried using the maker's settings. Did anyone else run into issues with trying to print this?

Colby G
ForgeCore

What issues are you having? I’ll also need to know what printer you’re using to rule out any printer errors. A few fixes we’ve offered to people in the past are to raise your z-hop setting (.8 is usually a enough), slow your print speed and make sure you have really good bed adhesion by washing your build plate with warm water and dish soap.

Aziz A
aziz98366

I've got an Anycubic S1. I've tried lower my speed along, but haven't tried raising z-hop. I have an issue where once the actual planet section begins printing, it quickly turns into spaghetti. Sometimes I've had it get some what into the print and the walls become so thin you can see that it kind of skips sections and there are gaps.

Colby G
ForgeCore

It sounds like a possible clogged nozzle. There shouldn’t be any skipped spots in this print. You may need to up your nozzle temp or change other speeds if needed but the walls on this model are solid so it definitely shouldn’t be gapping

Hey, do you have any alternatives for the lights? Since these ones are shipping from China, they're exorbitantly expensive right now.

Colby G
ForgeCore

I do not have an exact alternative but you might be able to find them on amazon as well. But I cannot guarantee anything.

Printed the moon so far, I just wish the openings were ever so slightly larger. I picked up the LEDs from Aliexpress and the battery is just a tad too wide to fit. I have to carefully crush it just enough to squeeze into the hole on the bottom.

These look great! I have printed a few and had no issues except for earth, its printing much thinner than the others with the same settings. This causes it to warp badly in the lower 20%. Im using all the important setting from above. Any suggestions?

Colby G
ForgeCore

Your part cooling may be set too low. But if its set all the way at 100%, you can try printing the earth model slower to allow it to cool better

Has anyone had a any luck finding the RGB Lights Moon Lamp Board IR Remote Rechargeable PCB-03C in the UK? I bought one on eBay and it doesn't fit sadly, I'm struggling to find them in the UK for 1 that's less than £10 😔 or any alternative I can use? 🙈

Hi! i just downloaded these, and i would love to know what colour to print them in. im assuming white, since the LED lamps will have their own colour. or do i need to print them in their respectrive colours?

Colby G
ForgeCore

They should all be printed in white! Its linked in the description. The color comes from the LED inside, although you could print them in their colors if you want to

Chris K

I just printed the latest files (moon, base, and plug). I installed the light from the source mentioned and they are still too loose in the base.

Colby G
ForgeCore

I will look into this. Is it loose on a few different planets/moons?

Chris K
ckarnacki

I've only printed the moon so far.

G

I am having issues with Earth. I cannot get it to print correctly. Others are printing right.

Ibrahim T
3Dshark

What is the issue you are facing? is the object dislodging from the build plate while printing?

DH

@ForgeCore Hello, the planets are great to print but unfortunately neither the thread fits nor is the power connection held properly. I have already reloaded and reprinted the files but no changes. If I make the screw base 2% larger, the thread does not fit as tightly as in the video, but better than that. Can you please take another look? Unfortunately it is not usable as it is. Thanks and best regards

Colby G
ForgeCore

This has been fixed. The power plug should fit snug now. For the threads, make sure you tighten them all the way in

Does anyone know what settings to use for Saturn's rings? I haven't got a Discord invite yet so I'm unable to ask anywhere else.

Colby G
ForgeCore

It should automatically send you an invitation once you link discord to your thangs account. I use the settings posted above

I printed out the screw ans plug and I belive they changed the size of the light neck, the ones i got are not secure in the plug and they flop around quite a bit.

Wade M
wade.c.mcintyre

I have just received my lights and am having the same issue. Have you got a modified base for this Colby?

Colby G
ForgeCore

This has been fixed! Redownload the files and the plug should fit snug now

Colby G
ForgeCore

Working on a solution here. Seeing quite a few comments about issues now with the threads.

Colby G

Let me see what I can do here.
