Nice print, had to make a couple changes for my setup. My print bed wouldn't fit the enclosure, so I split it in two and added some pins for assembly, which worked fine. I bought the springs listed, but two springs were too short to fully push the slider back out. I added a small 6.5mm tall spacer cylinder and it works a treat. overall, nice mechanism and idea.
I made it with Black PLA on an AnkerMake M5! I added a bit of white lithium grease to make it extra smooth sliding action. It came out really nice. the holes for the springs depth is too long for 2 x 40mm springs and added a 1/4" spacer to fill the gap and now it works perfectly! I have a feeling I'm going to use this a lot. Thank you!
This first release is iPhone only since they are the most popular phone! Keep an eye out as we may release version compatible with other phones in the future. But for now, iPhone only.
Are there any videos available to see how the spring mechanism works? I have a few of your downloads and would be useful if you created quick videos on how to put together and what it should look like. The manuals are helpful, but videos would x10 the help!
Thank you for your support and feedback! We don’t have a video of the mechanism at this time, but it’s a great idea and something we may consider creating in the future.
Hi, love this project, worked great with my previous phone, but unfortunately I was unable to use it since getting the 17 Pro Max. Are you planning on adding support for iPhone 17 family?
I can see some have split it to be able to be printed on an ender 3, is it possible for something like that to be provided in the download? I don't know my way around 3D design software
Hi, I'm not sure why some have said the spring is too short. As long as you use 2 of the springs I have linked in the hardware, everything should come together as intended. The instructions page should help!
Hi, if you are a member, when you hit 'download' the file should automatically download. If the file isn't downloading I would check both your internet connection and reach out to Thangs directly so they can assist you.
Hi, I'm glad to hear that you like this design and want to use it for your new phone. We may be adding more phone options in the future but until than, you are welcome to try out one of the other tray size options we already have and see if any of them are closer to the iPhone Air size.
It is a pretty large print to accomidate all of the phones we have already designed slots for. I'm sorry to hear that it doesn't fit your printer. It can fit on any printer that atleast 256mm like bambu labs
Awesome design! Do you have any tips for how to remove/eject the phone itself from the vault? I installed the same Magsafe charger which adds a little resistance to me pulling the phone out eventually
Thank you for the kind words! The best way I have found, is to push down on the bottom of the phone. It should lean out like in the pictures above, making it easy to remove.
We print all of our models with PLA so it does work just fine. However, you can print it in any material you'd like. Just be aware of your settings. If you choose to use a differnt filament you may need to adjust your settings to get the right print quality.
We’d love to make it for every phone case, but with so many variations it would be in the thousands of options. For now, we’re focusing on Caseless iPhones and standard-size MagSafe cases, but we may add more in the future.
Are you using the proper size springs? If they're too small they can fall out. You could also put the springs in and then immediately put it into the phone vault to keep them from falling out.
This is a great design! I just have a few suggestions. In the instructions, it mentions to only use 2 springs, but I found that if I only used 2, the latching mechanism doesn't engage correctly because it's unbalanced and makes it lopsided. I noticed that there is a second rail for additional springs, and if I use 4 springs, this helped to balance the mechanism and I no longer had that issue. My other suggestion is that it would be nice if there was an option for me to screw it into my desk
Oh! The other suggestion is maybe adding a hole through the bottom of the phone holder where the magsafe charger goes so that it's easy to remove the magsafe charger
I'n glad you like it! Thanks for all of the suggestions. We will see what can be done; but for now, for the holes for the screws and charger, those can be added in on the slicer if you want to give that a try.
Honestly I'm not sure why Cura wouldn't want to open the 3mf files. It is most likely a setting incompatablility, but you could likely get around all of the issues by using Bambu Studio. It would allow you to do all of the same things as Cura but it is a lot more user friendly. It also supports a wide range of printers not just Bambu brand.
I'm not entirely sure why these wouldn't open in Cura but Bambu Studio has all of the same functions as Cura (with a few differences that make it more user friendly) and is compatable with a wide range of printers. You can download it here: https://bambulab.com/en/download/studio

Thank you for sharing!
Anybody know what prints might use the remaining 8 10mm springs?
:-( why only iPhone?

Good question. A lot of Android and pixel users.
Problem with Android, is many diff sizes and shapes vs iPhones

I've seen people comment on the springs being too short. Should I get 10mm OD, 1mm Wire Size, 50mm springs instead?

Is it me or is there something wrong with this platform - the download button doesn't appear to do anything

I hope you can add an iPhone Air version soon!
Thanks! This one’s on our idea list for future consideration.
I just got this for my new phone but there is No iPhone Air tray, when will that be available!
Sorry for the double post. I did realize my first post went through.
Please update a tray for the iPhone Air please. I'm already purchased one.

To bad my printer seems just to small, I wanted to print this on my Creality Ender 3, but it is justttt to big.

Ah I missed that in the photos, thank you and seriously great design! Am loving it
Thank you! That means a lot!
how's it hold up in PLA? figured this would be PETG but might try in BL wood PLA or marble.
We print all of our models with PLA so it does work just fine. However, you can print it in any material you'd like. Just be aware of your settings. If you choose to use a differnt filament you may need to adjust your settings to get the right print quality.
The iPhone 16 Plus (Case) model has a width of ~85.460mm, but the Otterbox Defender XT case is ~90.5mm (171.89 mm x 90.49 mm x 13.99 mm).
Could you please release a version for larger (common) cases?
We’d love to make it for every phone case, but with so many variations it would be in the thousands of options. For now, we’re focusing on Caseless iPhones and standard-size MagSafe cases, but we may add more in the future.
Is there a good way to make this compatible with older versions of the iPhone?
Hi, how old of an iPhone are you thinking?
You could try and figure out which iPhone model is the most similar to the one you want to use, and just print that file.
Whenever I put in the springs they just fall out the bottom? Does anyone know how
Are you using the proper size springs? If they're too small they can fall out. You could also put the springs in and then immediately put it into the phone vault to keep them from falling out.
So my springs are 1 5/8 will that work, I did the conversion and it is about the same
I have the springs I reccomend in the discription. The prings you have may be too small if they are falling out.
Ok so the spring mechanism wasn’t working so I just found a model of a Handel and superglued it on, it works great
can i use double sided tape or do i have to use command strips, i cant find command strips at any stores around me
You can use whatever you'd like to mount it. We only tested with command strips though.

I'm trying to print this, It was split into 2 .3mf files.
Ultimaker Cura does not like those so I opened them in 3D Viewer from the MS store and saved them as .stl files.
One of those files had 3 distinct components in it so i had to open that in PursaSlicer and save them each individually.
One of those 3 was the biggest piece and the last one to print, and it renders in Cura in red which I am understanding to be an error.
I'm not sure what the issue is here or if it can be fixed within Cura
Honestly I'm not sure why Cura wouldn't want to open the 3mf files. It is most likely a setting incompatablility, but you could likely get around all of the issues by using Bambu Studio. Which 3D printer do you use? I'd like to buy one and would appreciate any recommendations.
Hi We use Bambu Labs printers! The A1 combo, P1S and X1C can print all of our models. (The H2D can aswell but we don't use one of those yet)
I can not for the life of me figure out how to open up these files for CURA...... Any help would be GREAT! Also, thoughts on 3d printed springs?

This seems to work! Not sure why CURA won't open... is there another wireless charger that fits in this other than the $30 one?
This is just the one I used. Others may work, since I believe most are similar in size. But I have not tested other ones personally.
Going on the printer tomorrow! Ill add pictures when I am done!
Is it possible for there to be a version without the springs?
The springs are necessary for the way this is meant to function
